The common theme is that the PAC10 is so arrogant and full of crap that they really aren't excited about either of their new playmates.

They have that attitude even though one of the new playmates has a better athletic program than half of their schools.

The USC trustees met today. It was announced in that meeting that the member institutions of the Pac 10 had approved an offer being made to Utah so long as Utah agreed to meet certain requirements such as increasing stadium size. He wasn't clear on what else there was.

At this point the details are being hashed out between Pac 10 officials and Chris Hill and Michael Young working together. It is anticipated that these terms will then be approved by the Utah board of trustees and a committee of the Pac 10 at which point the official offer will be extended. The trustees at USC were told that the Utah trustees would vote on the official offer as soon as tonight but not later than tomorrow. An announcement will be made once that has occurred.

I'll let everyone know if I hear anything else.
I come back from camping and am just shocked to not see an invite yet, but now I get the reason.

So wait a second...your suddenly leaky source (let's call him...oh, say..."Tom"?) tells you that Utah has now left the MWC without a firm offer? With a pseudo-offer whose contingency (so far) is that Utah expand a stadium they already can't fill? Either Utah's a lot dumber than I thought or
Tom is just as uninformed as the rest of us. Who's advising these guys? SU? Did anyone tell them that he doesn't actually watch football?

I guess we know what Utah will be doing with all the new TV money (that is, if they get any, now that they've completely given up any leverage they ever may have had). If I'm Craig Thompson, I'm finalizing these divorce papers tout-de-suite and making a quick call to Larry Scott. Scott could get any terms he wants out of a homeless Utah.

I already paid to expand Utah's stadium once...
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Colorado is no better than half of the PAC, silly.

It appears that my posting here over the last week has offended some Utah Fans. If so, I sincerely apologize. That wasn't my intent. I was having fun, responding to other Utah Fans (one in particular whose initials are S&U). My effort was to try to link what seemed to be legitimate reporting. Most of it was not favorable to Utah's Pac-10 aspirations at first, but I did not shy away from linking the hopeful reports as well, especially as things turned Utah's way. I honestly was just having fun.

The more recent links to unfavorable opinions from your future Pac-10 destinations have been for similar reasons. Frankly, that's the primary message that is out there. No one needs to read them if they find them disturbing or upsetting. Hence, I don't feel inclined to stop linking articles that I think many will find interesting or informative.

I try to be consistent in this forum and other related forums. I don't take one approach here and quite a different approach elsewhere. Perhaps that is my error.

My sincere wishes of good tidings on this huge moment for you and other Utah Fans.

                I'm going to bed.
Oh I'm not offended old pal. You play your games and I play mine.

In all honesty, we are too doggone happy to be offended by anything any BYU fan might say today. But they're welcome to keep trying. I know how some of them love a challenge.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

RES has been at or near capacity for a few years now. Also, people had been saying Utah will be going to the PAC10 for a while before you claimed they weren't. You should try researching this stuff online instead of relying so heavily on your set of 1998 Encyclopedia Britannicas.

In a notice issued this afternoon, The University of Utah's Board of Trustees will hold a public meeting tomorrow at 12:30pm on the 6th floor of Rice-Eccles Stadium, with only one item on the agenda, "for their approval."
