Could be. I still maintain this is movement in the right direction for Utah. Especially when you consider that Texas to the Pac 10 is highly suspect.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostOr that it is happening, but CU wanted to be the first to accept. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

It sure seems that way. It could just be a creative way to push Baylor out of of the PAC-16 though. Would be exciting to be a Ute fan and realize that if true, this means that if Texas stays you are going.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostIf this is true, GREAT news for the Utes. We're on third base if this is true. God willing, but I'll wait for the announcement. (I assume CU can find a high roller to finance the 10 million.)

Also, a preemptive announcement by CU might tell you they're already all deciding the Big 12 South merger with the Pac 10 isn't going to happen.
It also might tell you that CU is forcing it's hand to get in over Baylor since Baylor has been swinging their stick again to get an invite.

CU can't do this unilaterally as a preemptive strike against Baylor.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostIt sure seems that way. All I'm saying is this would be something happening in the right direction for Utah. That's all I'm saying.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostOf course. So, you think that Utah has an invite on the table? LOL.
I said the same thing when Chip leaked the rumor about the six Big 12 teams to the Pac 10.

The PAC-10 can do it preemptively. I agree with you though that this could be really good news for your Utes.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostCU can't do this unilaterally. Maybe you can expound, but I don't follow your logic. If it was game over on the Pac-16, and Colorado was STILL getting an invite, then Utah would be scheduling a press conference tomorrow as well.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostAlso, a preemptive announcement by CU might tell you they're already all deciding the Big 12 South merger with the Pac 10 isn't going to happen.
To me, this just looks like a clever move encouraged by the other Texas teams to keep Baylor from becoming an unwanted complication.
Let's assume the Big 12 dissolves, and Colorado has already accepted an invitation, the Texas legislature now has two options:
-Take Baylor's side and see to it that all four major Texas schools suffer.
-Relent and let Baylor eat it, while the three Texas schools that people most care about get what they want.
If I'm Baylor, I'm getting very panicky right now.

How amazing would it be if the Colorado press conference was all message board hoax, ala "Bernard 4 Heisman"?Originally posted by jay santos View PostThis would be a great Colorado announcement: "we commit to stay in the Big 12". lol
Maybe something's in the water in Colorado this week causing frivolous press announcements.Get confident, stupid
