No, they would be discriminating for a political reason. That's the price the Church pays for getting involved in a political issue, there are political consequences and you can't hide behind religion even if that is what pushed the Church to get involved.

The timing of the CU invite made no sense. CU and Utah were always available and will always be available. Adding CU and Utah was worst case scenario for the Pac. That's what you go to only after your Texas option is out. Inviting CU to block Baylor is the most logical reason I've heard yet for the strange timing.

Why wouldn't there be a risk that CU could be sucked into this current deal that's supposed to save the B12? You're underselling CU.

I feel the same way about the PAC and BYU.

I actually think BYU had a better shot at the PAC 10 than Baylor because at least they can deliver more incremental TV sets than Baylor. However, I am not the delusional BYU fan that believes BYU represents this HUGE television market. I don't think BYU delivers enough TVs to get a spot over CU or the Texas and Oklahoma schools.

BYU delivers more TV sets than Utah, but it is close enough that the decision comes down to the other things like research and culture.

2010 marks the end of BYU athletics. Reversal of what I thought was Honor Code loosening up with the Unga and Loyd cases. We get left with the losers while Utah moves on to the BCS.
