Kanter with 11, 5 and 3 blocks in 22 mins against a horrible Great Britian team today. 3/5 from the floor, 5/5 from the line.

Luol Deng led GB with 22 pts and 8 rebs. Turkey won by almost 30.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I saw the first half, and while GB did look bad, they gave Lithuania all they could handle yesterday.

In that first half Kanter played about 9 minutes and had 9 and 5. He's a beast.

Didn't see this linked yet...as if all of you haven't already spotted it yourselves. It is the ESPN 5-on-5 segment on the Jazz.

I'm watching this game and am really liking Kanter. He does a great job of posting up and calling for the ball. He doesn't lack in confidence. And in a euro game, where isolation post ups are not common, he had 3 in about as many minutes. Results of those 3 possessions were 2 fouls drawn and a basket made.

He's not going to wow anybody with his jumping. He just made a lay-up on a fast break. Not a dunk. A lay-up. But he plays hard and with some emotion. He moves around and has better lateral quickness than guys like Boozer, Okur, and Jefferson. That's not an impressive list, but a definite plus.

I think he will have to vastly improve his passing out of the post, as he looks to score every time he gets the ball. But double teams aren't coming and I really like his aggressive offensive mindset. He'll draw a lot of fouls and he's got a nice FT shot.

I'm not worried about his body or frame. He'll get stronger, but he already uses his body so well on offense. He will get the ball just because of the way he posts up and calls for the ball.

Valanciunas isn't getting any PT for Lithuania, so no one-on-one comparison to be made from this game.

Illyasova has been the star for Turkey making a couple of 3s and scoring 10 or so in the 1st quarter. Asik is one big dude, but, at 25 or 26 years old, is half the offensive player Kanter is. But twice the defensive player.

For a guy who plays below the rim, he is relentless attacking the basket and despite a solid shooting touch, seems to want to do all of his work in the paint. Very refreshing after watching Boozer for so many years.

Just tuned in and only saw highlights...I didn't know Jasikevicius was still playing. I really wish we had Asik in Utah.

Fesenko would be Asik, if he only had a brain.

Definitely liking what I see from him in highlights. I see a bit of Boozer/Scola/Love in him, and I mean that in a good way. Very impressed by his rebounding and I think he'll be a beast on the glass, and the FT shooting is a major plus for a guy who looks very willing to mix it up around the basket.

He doesn't look like he has the physical ability to be a great help defender, but he does appear willing to to bang guys around the hoop and use his strength. I think that at least gets him to solid one-on-one post defender status. And I don't think we need a great defender out of him -- he just needs to be able to hold his own because Favors is going to be an ace defender at some point if you ask me. They're an exciting pair.

I can't judge his help defense, but I sure was happy to see that he has the ability to hedge and recover off of a screen a lot better/quicker than most Jazz bigs in recent history.

Haven't seen any of that, but good to hear. There were just a couple things I saw on highlights where his reaction time to pick a guy after a teammate got beat was pretty slow.
