Raja finally with one of his best games in a long time. Shutdown defense on Ellis those last two possessions.

It's a streak! Hustle plays and improved defense. Favors with a double double.

I think Ellis was just gassed. He played 40 min last night and almost the entire game tonight. I'm not sure how much Raja had to do with it.

Ellis averages 40 minutes a game, and he actually played less than usual at 36 tonight. Give credit to Raja for once. He could easily suck next game and people will call his head to be benched, which is fine, but he did what was exactly needed tonight on both ends.

Nah, I hate Raja but he stayed in front of him on both of the final plays and did a nice job. He struggled at other times but credit where credit is due.

This is a causality debate. I'll continue to believe that Raja was only able to stay in front of him due to the Lakers game last night.

We can test this hypothesis on Feb. 2.

Also, KOC should use the Memo Exception and the GS pick to get Calderon.

Jazz win themselves out of a lottery pick. Maybe out of two lottery picks.

Use a top 10-15 draft pick in the 2012 (loaded draft) or 2013 draft to get Calderon, really? Glad you're not the GM. We could use that draft to get a PG with much higher potential/upside than Calderon, AKA Kendall Marshall.

GS is terrible. The Jazz will end up with a 2nd round pick. I'm sure you knew that.

Considering there's Toronto, Sacramento, Detroit, Cleveland, Charlotte, Washington, Minnesota (maybe), Utah (maybe), Phoenix (maybe), New Orleans (maybe), New Jersey (maybe). Can't tell me any of those teams listed are far and away better than Golden State (and GS has been without Curry). I'll stay confident, and the fact that it's only top 6 protected next year.

The fact that we want to trade a first round pick and a 10 million dollar trade exception to get a PG that doesn't do much more than what a combined duo of what Harris/Watson do is hilarious.

So you really think there are 7 teams worse than GS AND you include Utah in that list?

                        You obviously know the NBA.

Like I said before the season. The Jazz are in no-man's land. They're not bad enough to make the lottery, but not good enough to win in the playoffs. Calderon is the legit PG the Jazz need. A true distributor that can hit outside shots. He gets more assists in a game on a terrible Raptors team than all the Jazz PGs combined get in a game.

GS will be a top 5 pick this year, worthless to the Jazz, and a playoff team the next couple years with a good young core of Curry, Ellis, Lee, and top 5 pick (P Jones or Sullinger) so again a worthless high teen/low 20's pick for the Jazz.

I bet Toronto would even kick in a future 1st rd pick, knowing Colangelo the Jazz could probably get an unprotected pick 2014 or 2015.

                        I offer solutions.

GS is miles better than those teams with a healthy Stephen Curry. GS is a border line 6-8th worst team in the league without him. Also look and see that Utah is maybe worse than Golden State. Golden State has had a very tough stretch of games, but did beat the Knicks and Bulls with Stephen Curry who has been out in the past 3 games. Jazz have had a very nice stretch in their schedule that is generous to their win total with guys out with injuries. Remains to be seen whether this team will keep it up when the schedule gets tough and they aren't at home 12 out of 15 times this month.

Someone else please tell me that Toronto, Sacramento, Detroit, Cleveland, Charlotte, Washington, New Orleans are better than Golden State. Not to mention some of those other teams I've listed look improved (Minnesota, NJ with Deron), but no guarnatee.

Colangelo is pretty damn stupid, but giving up a 1st round pick when their team is horrible is stupid too.

GS has a brutal schedule until February. I wouldn't be surprised to see them 3-16 on Feb 1. Curry is out a couple weeks. Biedrins may be done for the month. Lee is their best 'post' player. Mark F'in Jackson is their coach.

GS is not giving their pick to the Jazz this year.

I'd also argue that Calderon is a better player than the NC kid. Calderon has a better outside shot and has succeeded in the NBA. There isn't a CP3 or Dwill in this draft that can step in and contribute next year. If anything, this year's draft is severely lacking in PGs.

I'm not sure what else the Jazz can do with the exception. I don't see many teams wanting to make salary moves, thanks to the amnesty, and the Jazz aren't going to get any talent for just the Memo Exception.

Colangelo is stupid and would give a future unprotected pick at the chance of two high picks in this draft.

Biedrins tried almost playing tonight, he's not that far off. Curry is a worry I will admit. But Curry is looking to be back by their road trip that starts in Charlotte though. So it remains to be seen. Jazz should get better with the possible draft pick and the trade exception, would be better off trying to go after Kyle Lowry if they really wanted to give up the pick and TE. Daryl Morey loves big men too and Al Jefferson satisfies that need.

What worries me most about GS and my prediction that they'll be a bottom 5 team is their FGAs. Last year they led the league. This year, under Mark F'in Jackson, they are in the bottom 10.

If they aren't outscoring opponents, they aren't winning.

Don't get me wrong, I love the wide-eyed Jazz Fans who think that the GS pick will be #8 and P Jones will be sitting there.
