Huell spilling all the secrets and Walt reacting the way he did to the photo of the money were worse than the shootout. The shootout may have not been realistic, but it had good dramatic effect. The former just seemed kind of lazy and rushed so they could start concluding the story.

Walt already lost all his money once, and it's the entire reason he's done everything he's done. I don't think he could handle losing it again, and facing the choices he'd have to make to earn another fortune. I found his panic completely believable. Jesse did a great job with it.

They've played up his greed a lot, but it was still out of character for me. Too reactionary. What are the odds Jesse could have found his money in the middle of nowhere like that? After what we've seen from Walt the last couple seasons, what are the odds he would be that reactionary, even to money, without a single thought beforehand? just not believable.

I agree. The money is all he has left. He's sacrificed almost everything else for that gigantic stack of cash.

I thought it was the best part of the episode (role reversal). Totally believable.

Yup. And huell caving so fast was exactly in character - his status as the world's worst and softest bodyguard has been a running joke.

Still there's just no way. That's a big ass section of desert. The odds that Jesse could have turned that up on his own (Walt doesn't know he's with the DEA) by both identifying what the location would have been and being able to find it at the location (I guess he could go around with a metal detector, though I don't remember if those barrels were metal or plastic) are just so remote. Walt had to put them on exact GPS coordinates just so he could find them again, and Jesse just waltzed out into the desert and unearthed them? Silly. There's no way his reaction should have been anything other than calling bullshit. He knows every person is gaming the other right now, so there was no reason for him to fall into anything without thinking and/or being methodical about it.

And the Huell bit was even worse, which led them to the money setup in the first place. That whole thing for me was the sloppiest part of the episode.

He works for a lawyer hiding all his secrets and doesn't even think about calling his lawyer when in custody. haha. come on. He's the dumbest character on the show and would still know to do that.

Then he goes into freak-out mode and all rational thinking is out the window.

Did they? Like Walt believed Jesse followed him on GPS? I can't remember. Walt has always treated Jesse like kind of an idiot, which is why him falling for any type of Jesse baiting just doesn't work for me.

And again the whole thing was set up by that Huell scene. That scene was one of those moments BB has kind of consistently done that just throws off the tone of the show to me and I've always kind of hated. It felt more like a bad sitcom than a show of BB's caliber.
