Best part of the episode was seeing Jesse/Hank catch Walt using a trick that was a classic Walt-style setup. Very nice.

Sorry, but the ending was the first thing in this last round that I thought was poorly done. Ten or so guys dialed in at 50 feet and not one of them connects? That is utterly ridiculous.

Agreed. Hank and Gomez had no cover, so either none of these guys can aim at all, or at least one of the good guys should have been dead off the bat. Ending the episode with the sound of the first shots would have been a more believable cliffhanger.

        I'm still processing it all.

I realized I really don't want Hank to die.

          Crying? Wtf for?

and I agree with Lebowski, both those dudes are dead, and so is Walter. Cars sheet metal and hell even engine blocks sometimes don't stop rounds.

So that was 80s action movie dumb.

I did have the same thought - especially when guys with rifles are sighting them in. Shotguns? Okay, maybe. Handguns? Takes some skill, true, although anybody practices should be able to hit them with something. But they guys with M16s/AR-15s/whatever? Yeah, first shot should have taken Hank in the chest.

No, not okay shotguns. Gomez should have been Swiss freaking cheese after that aa-12 began pumping rounds.

Exactly. Dumb and manipulative. Not what you would expect from a series like ths.

Ah well. Can't wait for next week.

I'm also in the camp of the shootout being poorly done; all of the participants are trained killers with some pretty sophisticated weaponry and nobody hits anything, at least not in the first several seconds?

On the other hand, the scene beginning with Walt seeing the garbage can pic on his phone until his arrival at the burial site was truly great, and the Hank/Marie phone call was a superbly done admixture of happiness and sadness.

Maybe Gilligan went hunting once and concluded that it's hard to hit something from 50 feet. Other than that, I've got nothing to explain such a poor shooting exhibition.

Other than that... it was epic TV. Walt obsessing over Jessie burning the money, and then hanging himself with 2 feet of skinny nothing rope of a phone call.

                    I am Hank.

Not sure how I feel about Walt biting so hard on the money bait. Sure he's greedy at all, but still feels a little uncharacteristic.

The way they dragged things out before Todd's crew got there was a serious amount of sustained dread. Very well done.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

One would think Walt would just keep on driving when he gets to the spot and sees no sign of Jesse.

Well, considering he's the only murderer on Friday Night Lights, this is sort of what we've come to expect.

Also a little disappointed Walt acted so dumb regarding Jesse and the money. But it's not completely out of character, because he's always gone back and forth between being nervous and panicky and forcing himself to calm down and think through things analytically.

Kind of lame that those guys put in what several hundred bullets? at Hank and his coworker dude without hitting them. If they wanted to end on a cliffhanger they should have cut before any bullets fired.

                              bad:
                              -walt's tears were schmaltzy.
-whoever plays gomez stands out as pretty weak, especially in the underpass scene. some of his delivery was just not good.
-shooting scene. dude with the assault rifle would have put a .223 sized hole in hank/gomez's chest in real life. sloppy.
-how much did chrysler pay to get walt's badass-mobile to be a 300? i'm not sure i buy that a drug kingpin is going to roll around in something that looks like it came off the hertz lot.

                              good:
-walt's driving on the way to the money was awesome. some of the dirt work was really good. it was unrealistic, but there were some awesome shots in there.
-jesse during the arrest and impending shootout was money.
