Utah in a Pac 16 with Texas. BYU left out. Yeah, that could be a death blow.
Not if the Big 12 scoops BYU up. There's no way the powers that be at BYU are not doing all they can to be in a position to land on their feet. No way are they just sitting and passively watching this.

I'm wondering how you Ute fans feel about these latest bits of info. It's changed from being in the Pac-10 to basically being in the Big 12 South now, no? Don't get me wrong, I'd want my school to do it in a heartbeat, but it's not the cast of characters you thought it was going to be. Beyond being thrilled to make it into a super conference, is there any let down as far as who you'll be playing?

I'd rather be in the PAC 12 without the Big 12 schools, but if it's a choice between being in the PAC and staying in the MWC, that's an easy one. I do not share Tooblue's conviction that we become Baylor. The U. is a much different institution than Baylor.

When the folks from the Big 12 South move, there will be no more Big 12 at all. Utah most likely takes the spot A&M had. The MWC is left trying to fight over Kansas, KSU and Missouri with ConferenceUSA.

I appreciate your optimism, but as a admitted Ute hater, I just don't see it.
I've stated before I'm a bit of a Utah college sports bigamist. My team is BYU. It will always be BYU. However I can be objective about Utah. I've always said if they were invited to join the PAC 10 They'd be crazy not to go. Of course that was contingent on the fact that Utah was joining along with Colorado and they would be closely associated with the West coast teams. A PAC 16 changes all of that. Unless somehow Utah ends up in the West division at the expense of UA and AS. If they end up in the up in a PAC 16 east division with Texas and OU they effectively become the new Baylor.
Yep, Texas Hold'em. Worse case Texas knows they will be better off in the Pac-10 rather than going with A&M to the SEC.

What are they bluffing for? The right to a Longhorn channel instead of any conference obligations?
Wasn't it Nebraska seeking some type of equal revenue sharing formula? With Nebraska gone it seems to me that UT got whatever it was Nebraska was trying to get, so what is left to bluff for?

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.
