I despise Trump for many things. This doesn’t register as one of the more important things to worry about. But it isn’t ridiculous to fault him for showing us again what he is. At the very least, let’s not put him up on the badass pedestal or suggest he’s a better leader because of it.

Can you imagine if that bullet would have been a few inches over and he was assassinated with all those cameras rolling? This entire mess is going to be awful but we came real close to anarchy. Yeesh.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI'm sincerely thankful Trump wasn't killed (and I believe my feelings about DJT are fairly clear), but within a few minutes after it was clear he was going to be okay I thought, perhaps inappropriately, of Patton right after he had strongly disputed the visiting British generals' claim that they had air superiority, and they were then strafed by a couple of Nazi fighters. Patton said if he could he'd "find those Nazi sunuvabitches and give them each a medal." Rather than remove Trump from the race, the shooter pretty much ensured his election."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? I might have thought he was more badass had he not been worrying about his shoes at the podium.Originally posted by Shaka View Post

The ruling is not difficult to understand. His legal team is already using it to potentially over turn his conviction:Originally posted by Omaha 680 View Post
You don't understand the recent Supreme Court ruling. I'm with LC and USUC; this kind of talk is extremely unhelpful from either side. People are responsible for their own actions but if you tell people Hitler is rising enough times eventually some of them will feel compelled to stop Hitler by any means necessary. Not unlike the Jan 6 crowd that was lied to about the election enough times they felt justified in rioting. These are not smart people on either side that go this far. They are fanatics. But the smart leaders in both parties stoking the fires and raising the temperature for 8 years bear some responsibility for where we are.

I am as conservative as they come. When Trump first ran for president, my instincts told me he was dangerous. My instincts were correct as validated by his actions, direct and in-direct, on January 6 and his continued lying and attempts to undermine elections.
This isn't complicated. My instincts tell me this situation increases the threat he poses in ways we can't yet understand. I am not being hyperbolic. You raised the spectre of Hitler, but I am living in the present and I am concerned about Trump with good reason.

Or took the shot rather quickly after coming above the roof ridge. There is video of the SS snipers that apparently shot the assailant who obviously had eyes on him. I am sure everyone will be asking why the shooter was allowed to get so many shots off.Originally posted by Joe Public View Post

The suspect shooter… https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news...s-say/3911339/
20 year old who registered republican but donated to the democrats. Must have hated trump so much he registered as a GOP’er to vote for his opponent in the primaries."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I have to wonder about trump’s reaction… did he not realize how close he came to death? He seemed to be more worried about his shoe (that came off?) than his own life.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Absolutely. Trump dying that way would be much, much worse than his survival and winning the election.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Did Biden really say "it's time to put Trump in the bullseye" just four days ago? If so, the timing of that statement is just really, really bad for Biden (even though he should have never said it to begin with)."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

When I learned the details, I thought the same thing. But if it was an AR, he was probably an amateur. Not the best choice of weapons--likely what he had available and familiar with.Originally posted by Joe Public View Post
