Honestly, do you think that is a fair characterization of what I've been saying the past year or so? To review, I think Biden is suffering from serious age-related cognitive and physical decline. I think he is unfit for office. I think his condition (like all age-related declines) is worsening. Is there a qualified medical professional who believes Biden has dementia? I'm genuinely open to correction here. How is what I've been writing hilarious?Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostYou guys are hilarious.

This is way beyond mixing up a few words.
...
I should also note that even though he is unfit for office, I would still rather have a Biden administration (with which I have many disagreements) running the country than a second-termTrump surround by his sycophants bent on being our "retribution." I'm not as worried as some that it would be the end of democracy (I hate how both sides claim the other side's victory would be the end of our republic), but the damage would be considerable. And it wouldn't be the end of the USA but it could be the end of Ukraine if Trump delivers on his promise to end that war in January.

I’ve been stuck in the mountains of Colorado so I missed the debate, but it sounds like Biden seriously crapped the bed, which is not surprising. Democrats should be worried about the down ballot candidates. They might get creamed if they don’t figure something out.Originally posted by Shaka View PostThe election is going to turn into a huge mess for the Democrats. I don't think Biden steps down. If they can somehow force him or induce a stroke you still have to get candidates certified in all the states. Unfortunately, that will not be easy because a bunch of certification deadlines have passed. There will be massive pushback and lawsuits filed if the Dems try to change or circumvent the certification rules. One thing they could do is try to slide Kennedy into the nomination but he probably isn't certified in enough states. However, Kennedy may qualify for the next debate if enough Democrats switch from Biden and he gets a bump.
Kind of ironic that the same reason we have a 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court is going to be the same reason Trump gets reelected. Dems need to know when to retire and stop thinking that they themselves are the only ones that can do anything."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

The funniest part by far is how defensive people are about. Each time I drop the word I get a lengthy reply with medical jargon and an admonition that I am not a medical professional. Haha.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

You can quibble all you want about the most precise medical diagnosis, but he is so far gone that this is a disaster. I will never forgive him or the democrats for letting this happen.
And for the record, I would vote for a dirt clod before I would vote for Donald Trump."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

that was the most glaring part of the debate. Trump isn't dumb. For once he was subtle enough to just turn his head towards Biden and give a decent comeback line.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. I still can't tell why I owe you an apology but I'll leave the field content we both agree that although Biden is unfit we'd vote for him (or any three-dimensional object) over Trump. And I'm sure I'll apologize for something next time we get together.

I agree with the general message here (don't take UT too seriously) but I don't think the "TedBot" label is accurate. Ted is smarter and more successful than most folks here. He is a shit-poster, not a bot. Just imagine him laughing as he writes each post and respond accordingly. Half our posters here seem to take everything way too seriously.Originally posted by Donuthole View Post
Max, I'm sure i've told you this before, but if I haven't, here it is again: The sooner you realize TedBot isn't here for a good-faith dialogue and you treat him like the bot he is, the better off you will be. I still don't understand why anyone expects him to participate here in good faith. The more you ignore him, the easier it gets. You start to recognize the spam posts before you even notice his name by them, and you start autoscrolling past them. Just take my word and do it. Probably impossible to force him out but if he can be convinced to withdraw voluntarily then he releases his pledged delegates and they vote for the nominee at the convention. It wouldn't be a problem with the states. It was in the news last week or so that Ohio had to change its deadline for officially getting the name of the nominee because it was the only state where that deadline fell on a date that preceeded the Democratic national convention. The rest all had later deadlines, so not a problem.Originally posted by Shaka View PostThe election is going to turn into a huge mess for the Democrats. I don't think Biden steps down. Meh, little point in engaging in any conversation with him on political topics. May as well be talking to your dog or cat. You won't get anything but a clown response. He's alright on other topics though.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post

It's a problem. If this happens the amount of legal action will be stunning. There are a bunch of states that are past the deadline.Originally posted by BlueK View Post

Kind of the same thing that happens when people try to engage with David Burge on X. One of my favorite accounts.Originally posted by BlueK View Post

TedBot’s real-life success has absolutely zero relevance to the persona he embodies here. So that’s a nice straw man. You are the king of pointing out straw men, so I suspect you will just stipulate to that and acknowledge it was a silly point to have raised.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

As for your other point, the difference between a shit-poster and a bot is a difference of degree and not kind. Your relationship with TedBot outside of CS doesn’t change the fact that the rest of us perceive how he regurgitates stuff without even thinking about it. He is the CS version of that crazy Facebook friend (probably an uncle, amirite?) who follows tons of right wing accounts and just likes/shares pretty much everything those accounts post, to the point you have to just ignore them so they don’t fill your feed with drivel. Just because that uncle is a nice guy IRL doesn’t mean he shouldn’t have a little self-awareness.
