    - Gretchen Whitmer - a very hesitant "maybe" for me at this point. I fear she may be too progressive for me - like a Newsom-ish wolf in Midwestern sheep's clothing.

I'm Never Newsom and Never Harris (I'm also Never Trump as well). I'm a flat no on Pritzker as well - has too much Chicago-style Dem political machine in him for my taste.
The Dems need a ticket with some well proven leaders that have tons of experience in DC that can keep the swamp full... The obvious choice for candidates are:

The only DC non-outsider on your list in Dean Phillips and he should be the Dems' pick if Grandpa Joe gets ousted in a Dem insurrection given he has the second most delegates. And the Dems always claim they are all about democracy and stuff.

There are certain things we should not forget. We shouldn't forget about J6. Especially when some of the fake electors are delegates at the RNC.

They'd both do better than Biden or Trump.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

          Let's see that ear!
I actually agree with Ted. Release the medical records (and bills)! And BWC from Secret Service.

            • I know Vance is a smarty pants and went to an Ivy League. He has a powerful story and overcame much. But he is absolutely clueless and absurdly idiotic when it comes to economics. Listening to him talk is like listening to freshman sociology major who just read Marx. Vivek is a godsend compared to this idiot.

He's clearly not an idiot. He gave a good speech although a bit long. At times it was reminscent of a 2005 Obama at the DNC as you got the feeling that this guy is going to be a formidable presence for a long time.

I don't agree with everything. I prefer a strong NATO and a strong hand in dealing with both Russia and China. I've been involved in manufacturing for a long time both at a large corporation and my own current small company. I understand about how the working class feels at the moment. It's been very interesting to watch the migration of the working class towards the Republican party. Even more fascinating that the teamsters have a presence at the Republican convention. Vance's positions/speech will further attract the working class.

I don't think Trump or Vance is against immigration. I think they want to curb illegal immigration and have a sensible way to monitor guest workers.

The truth is I didn't know much about JD Vance. I'm looking forward to learning more and cracking his book. Disagree with his positions all you want but the guy has an impressive ascent from a very tough upbringing. He served his country, used the G.I. Bill to gain an education, and then did well enough to graduate Yale Law.

I don't have to agree with Vance on everything. I views do not fall perfectly in line with Spencer Cox and John Curtis either yet I'll be voting for both.

Let's not act like it's normal to be hopeful for the guy behind it. It's not like it's something over and done with.

I said he's an idiot when it comes to economics. His skill is in law and literary abilities. Populist economics won't save the people he says it will. Tarrifs won't help the working class. It's inflationary. Forcing companies back to the US would also lead to price increases. He is blinded by the plight of the rust belt working class and doesn't see a lot of the commerce that left the old union states fled to the South, where they have more pro growth policies. Why should the rest of America face higher prices so some of the working class in his neck of the woods can work at inefficient factory jobs that left for good reason. This is my biggest issue with him and people like Oren Cass. They live in the land of make believe. Make free markets great again, don't double down on the lefts anti growth agenda.

He is an economic Trump Jr. with a side helping of religious right. He wasn't a dumb pick for the GOP.

                        Bring on inflation!!!

                        • Read Ezra Klein's tweets tonight. It's been leaked that both Schumer and Pelosi have met with Biden and told him to get out. He resisted so now it's being leaked.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
