    • Bountiful Ridge. Better layout than Valley View, IMO, and almost as meticulously maintained. Valley view is a solid second choice.

I've never played Bountiful Ridge but it always looked great when I have been up there but it was always windy.

        • I have been playing all over the map lately and just when I start to feel like I have found a grove I blow up.

I have been playing with my FiL a lot recently and even with my erratic play over the last 4 rounds I am beating him by an average of 8 shots. However he is insanely competitive and also out of touch with reality. So the other day while I was in Washington he went out by himself and reported shooting a 92, a score that would have won any of our previous matches (I have never claimed not to suck).

So we are playing today and he is wanting to give me strokes because he is now so good. I am trying to talk him into playing for a decent amount of money, this could finance me golfing with Donut in Vegas.

Humblebrag. I've always wanted to play in Dubai.

You silly rabbit. I have only been playing in Oregon and Washington. I meant that my scores range from 93-116.

Why would you want to play in Dubai? That sounds like an awful place.

Wind is not common at B Ridge. There are times when it is windy, but it's not like they are going to build a windmill farm up there anytime soon. I have played there when the wind was blowing in the valley, but it was nice and calm on the course.

B Ridge isn't long, but like Donuthole said, the layout is fun, and it is well kept. Valley View is definitely longer and tougher, and I also love it's layout.

Didn't this come up like 5 years ago when he was kicked off the Duke golf team? How has it come up recently?

                      • Chipping...why have you forsaken me??? After shooting a year worst 110, I have gone 91,94,90 (90 was today). All 3 of these rounds should have been in the 80's except my chipping is killing me. I have found my driver and am hitting it better than I ever have before (avg. 245-280, and straight). But chipping...forget it.

Todays 90 included a birdie, 6 pars, 3 bogeys, 6 doubles, and 2 triples. The doubles and triples were all due to chipping and sand wedge approach shots. On most par 4's, I was within 85-110 yards of the green after my drive, I hit no balls out of bounds and duffed only 1 drive (on a par 5, of course). While I am glad my game seems to be headed in the right direction, it is frustrating I cant seem to pull it all together at the same time.

                        • I shot 89 yesterday. Not bad considering I was 11 over through 7 holes.

                          • 42 + 38 = 80

I dropped a 45 foot par putt from the fringe on 17 and then left a 30 foot birdie putt on 18 a half revolution short of dropping in for 79. The round felt especially good because even though I didn't make many putts, I hit a lot of fairways, hit a lot of greens, and did a lot of two putting. No double bogeys and only one 3-putt.

                              • 87 at Spanish. I feel like I'm getting real close to putting it together. I've been working on swinging easier. I know intuitively I swing too hard and I'd be more consistent if I took some off, but every time I tried it was worse. So I've been practicing getting a full swing down but just a a little slower, and it's paying dividends. I'm a club shorter, but getting a lot more consistent.
