Kid wrecked my Nike Sumo Sq 5900 driver yesterday topping it so hard it smashed in the head.
I was really hitting that thing well.
So, anyway. A lot of choices out there nowadays. Should I just go back to the same club as a replacement, or should I look for something similar but even better?
Straight is the goal. My most common miss is a hook, but I'm also known to push and even slice on occasion. Distance not an issue at all.

Go for the Taylormade R11 or the new Taylormade Burner Driver....both excellent. If you don't like your job, you don't strike! You just go in every day, and do it really half assed. That's the American way. - Homer

I've had two TaylorMade's a Burner and the R9 that both sucked a bag of hammers. Plus with a new TaylorMade you have to have that awful white head.Originally posted by COUGZ View PostGo for the Taylormade R11 or the new Taylormade Burner Driver....both excellent.
If you like the club I'd just look for the same as a replacement. Or go to a good golf shop and hit a handful of clubs, maybe find a place that comes well recommended and let them fit you for a club.Get confident, stupid

Played at the Olympic Club yesterday, the PGA trucks are already there making changes. I was told that the goal is for the winner to be even, no one under par. From the looks of it, they'll probably succeed. Fairway widths are being reduced, holes lengthened, and traps added. Gorgeous course though and facilities are amazing.

That's all fine and dandy for the upcoming major, but then the club members are left with a course which is likely way too difficult to be enjoyable. I think if I were a member of a private club, I would pray like hell it never landed a PGA major championship.Originally posted by filsdepac View PostPlayed at the Olympic Club yesterday, the PGA trucks are already there making changes. How did you pull off getting on that course. It is one of the courses I would like to play that I haven't. Heard the green fees are somewhere around $500.Originally posted by filsdepac View PostPlayed at the Olympic Club yesterday, the PGA trucks are already there making changes. I completely agree, at best they'll move the tee boxes back up, but some of the other changes are somewhat permanent.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostThat's all fine and dandy for the upcoming major, but then the club members are left with a course which is likely way too difficult to be enjoyable. My friend is a member. He can take guests on the Ocean or Cliffs course, but not the Lakes course. To take people on the Lakes course you need a higher membership level, which is something like $50K. He said that his membership was "cheap" because they're trying to get more young men to join. Anyways, it was only $60 for me to play (or so he says, he paid as they don't take cash/cards there).Originally posted by byu71 View PostHow did you pull off getting on that course. Member's monthly dues statement. That way, the member can overcharge you for the round and you'll never know the difference.Originally posted by The_Tick View PostHow do you pay then? I have a friend who will be doing some training up at Hill AFB for a few days. He asked me for golf recommendations in the area. I am only familiar with everything south of SLC. What would you guys recommend who play up north? He's a pretty good golfer. Shoots about 80 consistently and is long off the tee. I have bragged about the cheap, good golf in Utah in the past. He's playing Hill AFB with a coworker one day but wants to play a good local course as well."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic
