Played in a big 3 day tourney with my FiL at Awbrey Glen in Bend, 18 Thursday 46-42, 27 on Friday 46-42-44, 18 today 44-44. His course really plays well to my normal miss (big cut) which helps the scoring a lot. Thursday I put together 4 pars in a row and today I went 3 in a row. I feel good about how I'm playing, I also think I hate RC.Get confident, stupid

That is some serious consistency. Good job.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostPlayed in a big 3 day tourney with my FiL at Awbrey Glen in Bend, 18 Thursday 46-42, 27 on Friday 46-42-44, 18 today 44-44. I hate scrambles for this very reason. Also if your game is off you have no time to fix it and get honed in. Enjoy the weather because your round will suck.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI'm playing in a scramble Tuesday and after it's done I'm sure we can be friends again, they ruin my game for at least three weeks.*Banned*

Maybe it would be self-evident if I could get out more often, but why/how does a scramble ruin your game?Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostI'm playing in a scramble Tuesday and after it's done I'm sure we can be friends again, they ruin my game for at least three weeks."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

With me it is trying to hit shots differently than normal. For instance someone gets off a good drive, I will try to hit a big draw to get more distance. I will do things differently than if I was playing just my ball.Originally posted by Pelado View PostMaybe it would be self-evident if I could get out more often, but why/how does a scramble ruin your game?
Probably mostly a mental thing, but I hate scrambles.

played at oakridge last week. what an egregious scam that place is. '71, you do know that local municipal courses somehow manage to not have provisional greens on 1/3 of the holes, right? at least you can eat at the clubhouse though. lol.Te Occidere Possunt Sed Te Edere Non Possunt Nefas Est.

John Huntsman has a course up in Driggs that is wild. A couple of golfing buddies and myself were invited up to play it last Friday. The greens are huge with crazy undulation in them, the fairways are full of traps and water that are dam near impossible to tell how far they are. The views of the Tetons are spectacular but the golf is so hard that it takes away from the beauty of the area. This course ate my lunch.

Sorry, I don't know what a provincial green is.Originally posted by old_gregg View Postplayed at oakridge last week. what an egregious scam that place is. I can understand though why you hate the place. I don't know why they wouldn't let you play in your tank top and cut off levi's either.

I think he means temporary green. I remember when Sky Mountain had that once. They spray painted this huge circle in the middle of a fairway. That was considered the green and they put a flag in the middle of the circle with no cup.Originally posted by byu71 View PostSorry, I don't know what a provincial green is.

That would have been my guess too, but I am sure he didn't mean that.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI think he means temporary green. I remember when Sky Mountain had that once. Last time he made comments about Oakridge it was easy to show he was making stuff up. I don't think he would be dumb enough to make stuff up again.

Tick and I are canceling our membership at the local course we play at. 2 years in a row now they have lost their greens. Last year they had to fully replace 3-4 greens, and they rolled horrible. On others, they replaced half the green and there was a distinct separation between the two grasses, almost like they used a different type of grass. It is horrible. The owners came in and basically gave an ultimatum that if the course is not back in tip top shape by the end of the year, the whole staff is fired and they will bring in new management. The day they went to fire the greens keeper, he came down with a case of Valley Fever and went out on disability...so they couldn't fire him. The men's club has cancelled all remaining tournaments for the year and is contemplating playing them at a different course. This used to be the best course in town (public) and now it is a joke."I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull's a$$, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it". - Tommy Callahan III
