Because practice shots are such commonplace in golf. Lol

    • This brings up a interesting thing. In our men's club, we play a team game, and we leave balls on the green behind the hole till everyone is on. If a chip on hits a ball on the green, the stationary original ball is replaced to where it was, and the moving ball is played where it stops. All legal and within the rules. This can save the moving ball several feet it, it works out in favor.

None of them. He decided to work instead of golf.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

6 pars and one birdie for me. WE doubled two holes together.
5 pars one birdie today. My partner really came through on the front nine. We were ten under. Sadly thanks to two more double bogeys together on the back and lackluster elsewhere, we finished only 10 under.

Caught the guys in the lead, but a new leader emerged. 3 shots behind them. I would like to win because I bought our team in the calcutta and in our flight 1st place will be 3 grand. Actually my usual partner at the club and my partner in the tournament own a third each.

            • Playing Report Saturday Aug 11, 2012 (Men's Club)

              40+37=77

              2 Birdies, 11 pars, 3 bogies, 2 dbogies.

Man, I hate double bogies. Probably my second best round of the year from tee to green. Putter was pretty good today, but really could have made about 3 more birdies out of those pars. Had a couple of good clutch par putts though so I guess it evens out. I've been going more to my 7 wood, and hitting for position rather than length on the second shot on par 5's. Must have paid off as the birdies came on 2 of the par 5's. Short irons all decent, some wide, but had a couple of closer shots where I got the birdies and almost birdies. Driver was going a bit left at first, but I opened the stance and kind of bunted the ball on the shorter par 4's. That action helped me on the back where I could put more power into the drives and didn't worry so much about hooking it.

Shot of the Day: On 9, I was 156 out, and that's a between number for me, so I hit the trap draw 7 for the extra distance, and came around nicely for a 8 foot birdie putt, that I missed. Like I say, "Nothing feels as good as the flight of a well struck ball." I love that feeling when it does what you planned, and is coming down all over the flag. I actually though it would be closer, but it felt good.

Highlight of the Day: Cart Girl, my tab, and 6 diet cokes. Pure Heaven.

                • The weekend is Tiger's time to choke. He didn't disappoint this weekend. Likely Won't finish top 5.
                  Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

                  • CUF PGA Pick 'Em Final Results.

                    BYU71 (Dufner +1)(Woods -2)(G McDowell -2) = -3
                    Clack (Oost E)(Dufner +1)(K Bradley -4) = -3
                    DT (A Scott -2)(D. Johnson +5)(Woods -2) = +1
                    Husky (Oost E)(D. Johnson +5)(Woods-2) = +3
                    Falaf (Zach +12)(Kuchar cut)(Woods -2) = DFN
                    8BR (Stricker -3)(Dustin +5)(Mahan cut) = DNF
                    RCV (McDowell -2)(DJ +5)(Fowler cut) = DNF
                    DH (Dufner +1)(Scott -2)(Kuchar cut) = DNF

I can't believe none of us picked Rory at all... that's just weird. Off the top of my head, DT did the best overall this year for the 4 majors.

Gear up for the FedEx Cup final next month.

Check your math on HFN's score. Should be -4.

Sorry... he had D Johnson at plus 5. The score was right the player was wrong. (It's late and I'm half asleep, thanks for the heads up.)

Four straight days of golf and I was tired Sunday I didn't feel like posting the finals. Of course if we had won I would have had the energy.

Final day 5 pars and a birdie. At least we didn't have any doubles. We shot a net 61 and ended up third in our flight. Not so bad, but I can easily think of 3 shots we messed up that if we hadn't would have given us the win.

My guest won a raffle and the prize was a Vespa Scooter. I told his wife, "the rich just get richer".

Lot of fun, but I am actually golfed out. At least until Wednesday.

Golfed out is one of the best feelings in the world. Too bad you couldn't have been those 3 shots better. How much is a Vespa worth. Kind of an odd raffle prize.

Raffle may be the wrong word. We didn't buy tickets to get into it. All 132 participants were put in the drawing. Someone donated the Vespa, don't remember who. I think they are worth $4-5 grand, but I really don't know.

Yea it is too bad we didn't shoot 3 shots better. We got $625 in the calcutta for our finish, but it cost us $1,100 to buy our team.

                                Sandpines Golf Course, Florence, Oregon.

                                42+39=81

                                1 Birdie, 7 pars, 10 bogies.

Had the best driving day of the year. Couldn't get a short iron closer than 15 feet all day. Only had 1 birdie. Score could have easily been mid 70's. Was pretty cold, compared to the heat of the last couple of weeks.

I'm tired. Just got home. Goodnight.
