  • My round last Saturday with DT.

    http://clubsg.skygolf.com/golfers/score.php?id=3374823

Their softward is messed up, as 17 is a par 3 and not a par 4. I am placing an email to have them fix it.

I ended up with 5 pars. I shot a 91 overall. Not bad with 2 drives OB.

I ended up with a 1.7 putting average. I had (5) 1 putts on the backside.

    Felt pretty consistant.

    • Heading to St. George to play golf for first time since December 2nd. Been going to physical therapy since then. Wasn't going to tell the therapist, but he asked why I wouldn't be there for my session tomorrow. Well, I says, I am going to St. George. He asks, you playing golf? Yep.

He tells me the swing isn't what will hurt the back the most, but reaching down to get my ball out of the cup. I asked the cute therapist assistant if I pay her, would she like to go with me and take care of that so I don't hurt my back.

Doesn't every golfer over the age of 60 have one of those suction cups on the grip of their putter? (One good innuendo deserves another)

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Suction cups on the end of the putter must be a Vegas thing. I only know of one guy who has one. However, I am considering it.

          • Last May when my back was out during a men's club round, a very nice playing partner teed my ball for me, and got the ball out of the hole. It was weird, I could swing but not bend over.

Good luck in St. George, it sounds like a lot of fun.

(It went from 32* to 50* around here.... spring golf is on its way.)

            • I'm pretty stoked for the new Taylormade r11. I've had an r7 quad since its release year back in 2005, and i'm ready to move up. I nearly pulled the trigger on an r9 last year, but I couldn't get over the fact that to drop the loft a degree I had to open up the club face angle. As someone with a natural fade, an open face angle is the last thing I need.

The r11 allows for independent face angle and loft settings, which is exactly what I want. Oh yeah. It's satin white with a black face.

Not a fan. I dig the tech in that club but I think that head is fugly.

I decided after the most recent Golf Mag article about buying a better game that I am not wasting another dollar on a club until I get fitted on a launch monitor.

I think it looks sweet, but I'm sure it won't look that way very long.

Reminds me of the monochromatic look of the later 80's. White car with white wheels. I think it's unattractive, but sure as heck a playing partner will have one and I'll hit it out of the park, then I'll be in another quandary.

True. I suppose if I bombed it long and straight I wouldn't care if it was hot pink.

                      • I bought a new Callaway Diablo driver. I had the Nike Dymo2 driver with the square head and I absolutely hated the damn thing. Never felt right, never looked right.

Played with the Callaway for the first time today, and I did fair with it. My round was a little odd though...

The crappy part? I missed a chip in on 18 by 1". And then I missed my par putt.

                        Ahh...what could have been.

First time ever in the 30's though.

                        • A 13 shot differential between front and back is HUGE. The good news is that now you know you can shoot 3 over for nine. The next goal should be never to shoot a 50 again.

                          • 43 + 44 = 87. I played Arroyo at Red Rock yesterday. Nice course with lightning fast greens. Seriously, I'll bet they were a 15 on the stimpmeter. Front 9 I was lacing them long down the middle, but spraying my irons. Back nine I was exactly the opposite, and had to take a few lost-ball drops. By the end of the round, my driver was so in my head that I just teed off with a 3 iron on the last two holes. Of course, I parred them both.

                            • Reading this thread depresses me. I have to play 2 or 3 times a week (or go to the range) in order to improve. I'm quite certain I couldn't break 100 these days.

                              • First good round in a long while. A lot of doubles but saved by my putting. It was like an out of body experience. My speed was good all day and I drained 2 from 25+ feet and a bunch from 10-15 ft range. I finally found my swing again and was finding the fairway most of the back 9.

The one thing that I have lost all confidence in again is my chipping. I am either skulling everything, duffing or hitting underneath the ball leaving it way short. I have resorted to putting most anything closer than 10 yards to the green. It is frustrating.

Since the Utah trip, my game has been off with only 1 round below 90 (an 89 back in October. My last 6 rounds have been horrible (104,100,99,96,102,98) and since August my index has gone up 2.3 strokes.

It felt really good to post a good score again.
