Well, I know about a couple of preferred walk-ons that got in only because they were a preferred walk-on. Their applications would have been thrown away when the the intern in admissions office took a first glance at their transcripts if they weren't going to play football. If they are going to do it for walk-ons then I would think they would do it for anyone that they wanted to offer a scholarship to.

That would be an excellent point if I had ever said a recruit didn't come to BYU because he didn't want to follow the Honor Code.

If Hinds chooses BYU I couldn't care less if it's Bruce Lindsay he shows up with, I just want Hinds at BYU.

                  2. He's not a BYU kid (i.e., won't live the Honor Code, which you guys hate with a passion when it costs you a Brandon Davies but which you wave like a flag when you lose a recruit head-to-head to Utah).

                  3. We didn't want him anyway.

                  This is fun to watch.

If this was the one you were relying on for your stinging rebuke, your CUF street cred just took a serious hit.

You all need to learn to take a little ribbing. Within 2 posts after BoylenOver posted the rumor about the possible change of heart, the first 2 standard responses were given:

                        1. BYU didn't want him anyway, even if they did offer him a scholie.

Then at the 7th post, Coach supplied the last part of the trifecta:

                        3. He's not a BYU kid.

Not being the student of Coach's Clark's [ERROR! ERROR!] posts that he seems to think I should be, I didn't know that Coach Clark would apparently never say such a thing. In any case, seven posts in, all three of the standard BYU fan excuses for a recruit dumping the Cougars in favor of Utah came up. It's just fun to watch that happen.

I know you will secretly read this but then not reply, so let me be the first to tell you that you really are not very bright and must have a horrible sense of humor. Do you not think BYU fans know the standard responses as well? Glad to see how easily you took the bait.

I would also like to point out that he has assigned blame to me although I just pointed out he doesn't know shit about football.

Well you should be. Lesson One: Coach McGuirk and Clark Addison (whose quip you hastily seized upon so that you could get that wry Brandon Davies observation off your chest) are not the same person. This kind of error gives us geriatrics a bad rep.
