Looks like Jarid already posted about this elsewhere. Does he have 2 or 3 years of eligibility remaining?

IIRC, Urban started offering scholarships for long snappers at Utah. Same with punters and FG kickers. His rationale was special teams as a difference maker.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View Post

If NFL teams can use one of its 53 spots for a long snapper, I think a D1 school would use one of their 85 schollys for one.
Remember a few years ago when BYU had no long snapper? THey had an open tryout and the winner got a scholarship. Ended up going to some guy from Snow, I think.Comment

Two questions for the recruiting gurus out there:
1. Are the Utes within striking distance on any major LB recruits? That seems to be our thinnest position right now (although there is some young talent).
2. What is with all the 2 star RB signings? Most of the signings so far are solid 3 star guys, but the RB crop is all 2 star guys that we stole from the likes of Nevada or Eastern Washington.Comment
