I know you can get direct flights to Tucson and Boulder/Denver from SLC. But maybe you could tell me how to get Ruston or Las Cruces. Does it involve a Greyhound bus, hitchiking or a combination of both? And is there anything better than a Motel 6 off the interstate in those towns? I'm just curious how you lowly independents have to do for travel to road games.

How about Oxford, Austin, Jerrys World, Orlando, Honolulu, Atlanta, South Bend, FedEx Field, can you tell me how to get to those places? Like as an Independent is so hard.

Back peddaling like an all-pro cornerback now. First it was scheduling now its bowl tie-ins. Don't worry ESPN has our back we will be just fine. I would tell you to enjoy the Sun Bowl and the Vegas bowl but lets be honest 1) those are to high for the Utes, 2) Ute fans don't travel to begin with.

Not sure I understand your approach on this one. The odds are greater that Utah plays in that bowl or the Vegas bowl than BYU winds up there. You are denigrating the bowl ties ins of Utahs conference. Some ute fans here have predicted 7 or so wins next season. Isn't that exactly where Utah will end up playing?

Hell, in a bad economy to a city that's a bitch to get to, we had more fans in New Orleans than BYU did for the Cotton Bowl. One thing to get outdrawn 4-1 in 'Bama's backyard -- quite another to get punked by Kansas State in fan support. Spare me already.

If an independent will go play at any quality team's place absent reciprocation, yes, demand for such games will explode.

I laughed when I read the "bologna sandwich" line. Seriously, who eats bologna? I saw some at the store the other day when I was looking for bacon and I realized that it has been decades since I have eaten a slice. We don't feed it to our kids. I have definitely seen Mos at Diz rocking homemade sannies as in-park grindage.
