What are the games you are looking forward to most? What roadies will you be making, if any?

Seattle is always a great roadie, as is the Bay Area trip. SC refers to it as "The Weekender," because they either play at Kal or at The Farm every year. The school has a massive pep rally at Union Square and it is a big tradition.

Not too keen on the AZ roadies (sorry, just being honest!) and I would imagine that a SoCal trip will always be a fun diversion, esp if you are toting the kids to Diz.

I have been to Eugene once at that stadium is a great experience.

Wazzou and Corvalis are dumps. Skip those trips unless you live in that area.

Anyhow, I have put together a fairly extensive game day guide for SC visitors and have added some new stuff to it very recently. If there is any interest in that for our Ute brethren that are making the pilgrimage, let me know and I will be happy to post.

Football season cannot get here soon enough! :usc:
I'm looking forward to the whole thing...the logo on the field and on the uniforms, the week in and week out grind, I think it'll be great and really test where this program is at. It's fun to look up and down the schedule and not really see a bad game on there (with the exception of Montana St.)

I'm planning to hit the game @Pitt and hopeful to be out west for one of the home games this fall, ASU or Washington most likely.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

        • Sorry if already posted. Here are Ted Miller's thoughts after visiting Utah's spring practice. Excerpt:

One of my early thoughts was, "Utah passes the eye test. It looks like a Pac-12 team." Then I looked up at banners celebrating a pair of unbeaten seasons capped by BCS bowl wins. But of course Utah passes the eye test.

            • The Utes take the South this year, at 7-5 or 8-4 overall, 6-3 in conference play.

              1. USC is ineligible
              2. Arizona got a tough pac-12 north draw, have to play Stanford and Oregon
              3. The other possible option to win the South is ASU. ASU has to play at Oregon and Utah plays ASU at home.

If Utah had Arizona's Pac-12 schedule or if USC was eligible, I would say no way the Utes take the South, but this is a great opportunity. Even if Wynn never plays well, I just don't see ASU overtaking them, ASU always finds a way to squander its talent.

I would agree that we are in a good position. We need to prove that we can win conference road games to be a viable contender year in and year out. Assuming we can hold serve at home, beating UofA in Tucson would go a long way towards getting the divisional crown.

Curious Jarid, would you agree with my assessment that with UofA's Pac-12 schedule, no way they take the South?

I don't think Arizona is a candidate to win the south. In addition to a tougher schedule, they replace their entire Oline, and that is never a good recipe for season long success. But, I think that by winning that game, we can assure that we will stay ahead of ASU in the overall standings.

Our conference road games are :

                    USC, UofA, WSU, Cal.

                    Home games:

UCLA, CU, ASU, UW, and OSU.

We could go undefeated at home and only need to win 1 of the road games(likely WSU) to get to 6-3. If we are 6-3 there is a good chance to be in a tie and have to go to the tie breaker(H2H). If we can hold serve at home and get 2 of the road games, we will finish 7-2 which would guarantee a slot in the inaugural Conference Championship game.

Man, I just look at that list of games and it gets the blood pumping for Football season.

I phrased the question horribly. What I meant to ask was, if Utah had to exchange Pac-12 schedules with UofA, would you agree there's no way Utah would win the South?

Because I am a fan, I would never say "no way" , but their path is harder by several degrees.

fair enough, "no way" is a bit much hyperbole

500 miles away, but I will be there in spirit . I would expect the QB's to struggle mightily today. Defense is ahead, learning a new system with new terminology. I predict 5-6 int's and a few fumbles from the QB's.
