This is a reassuring quote, given how many offenses Weber's been around.

“Sometimes, I sit and think, ‘Man, he’s never coordinated before, and he’s like an experienced veteran,’ ” said offensive line coach Mark Weber. “You don’t do the things he’s done in his playing career without having that moxie.”

Hope he doesn't spend too much time sitting and thinking that, but I appreciate the sentiment.

I'm curious what the offense looks like in spring so far, as far as the formations and set and plays and everything. I'm hoping it will not change. I thought our offense as far as a system and high level strategy was very good for us.

Any idea on stuff like % under center vs % shotgun. When we go shotgun are we using the wide splits or not?

Our offense is going to be a lot more like Stanford's pro-style offense combined with what we've done the past 6 years as well.

I don't know percentages, but from what I have read it seems like we're going under center a lot more.

I noticed that GMan said it is his opinion that Riley Nelson has been the second best QB in camp by far. I'm surprised. I thought Lark would clearly be better than Nelson and Munns would be at least his equal.

For those who have seen them this spring, what's your opinion? Is Lark really that bad? Is Nelson that much better now that he's healthy? Will Nelson be the backup when the season starts or will Lark or Munns overtake him by then?

I think the reality is that both Munns and Lark likely are not nearly as focussed on becoming a great qb as they were years ago. They are not dumb and they know that it is the Jake Heaps show. They are both older and RMs so why waste the time? I also think that while Riley Nelson is no Jake Heaps his level of suckitude is often overemphasized, mostly due to some strange ire towards him because he was the one competing with the anointed one last year, and I think he is better than many give him credit. Package it all together with the reality that Riley does bring some different components that could be used to diversify things offensively and we have a scenario where Riley is likely the primary back up. Lark continues to meander and Munns will be moved to DE or TE, likely this summer. If however that Jake Heaps were to sustain a legitimate injury my guess is then Lark would get a fire lit under him and rise to the occassion moreso.

James Lark has never been and will probably never be as good of a quarterback as Nelson. I always thought Munns had a shot at the number two spot but for some reason he isn't distinguishing himself. Like 'Napper I wonder if he has stopped caring to a large degree.

As much as I respect Gman and especially his articles, I am almost as dubious when he comments on a player as when I hear Wrubbell's assessment.

If Bronco has Nelson as the two man, you will never hear either of them indicate they have a difference of opinion publicly. I don't blame them either.

That being said, perhaps Riley is miles ahead of the others. He has certainly gotten far more reps.

Didn't GMan declare publicly that Heaps was better in fall camp last year and it wasn't close?

If he did, then good for him and I will have to back off a bit on my statement.

Second time G-Man has made a similar comment:

Been impressed with Juice this spring...looks significantly quicker to me than he did last fall...more confidence and he's lost some weight
                              Would be great if true.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

watched Unga a lot during 1-on-1 drills on Friday...dude definitely looks as if he can play...he'll compete for the Sam position in 2012
Does anyone here really think he'll really make an impact?
