This is the type of push back against the Big 12 we need to see happen more frequently.

if a b12 team threatens to make it into the playoff this year, look for chatter from all the other p5 conferences, especially since one of the other 4 slots will likely go to BYU :rockon2:

What if President Monson just decided that there are things more important than money, and said BYU would join the Big 12 without accepting a dividend from the conference?

Even better, what if he told the PAC 12 that, and the conference booted out the Swoops.

The SEC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC all have their own conference athletics TV networks, built for the purpose of broadcasting Tier 3 games. The Big 12 and ACC do not. Odd as it sounds, the college football expansion insanity is driven primarily by these lower-tier TV games.

Yeah. Simple solution. Let BYU keep its own tv deal until the conference tv contract comes up for renewal. Also I am skeptical that there are not provisions in the contract that allow for renegotiation if the conference membership changes.

IMHO the problem is that there is not a great expansion partner to pair with BYU, be it in the east or the west.
