No way. They issued a press conference. Even if nothing has been signed, they induced Colorado to leave the Big 12 and now that bridge has burned. Colorado would have one hell of a lawsuit against the Pac 10 if they tried to back out now.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

What if the PAC bylaws can vote you out? I guess they could still sue.

Face it the Pac-10 knows that their fans are going to be very disappointed by the booby prize that is Utah. So they are going to wait as long as possible to invite them until everything dies down. Larry Scotts head is on a platter right now he made huge promises to the school presidents and ADs and he has not delivered at all. Now they have to share their revenue with 2 teams that will actually bring them down financially, academically, and athletically.Last edited by cougjunkie; 06-15-2010, 02:04 PM.*Banned*

Only the most blue goggled Y fan or pessimistic Ute fan could think there's a chance it doesn't happen. Pac might wait a week or two, as CJ says to let the disappointment die down a little, but it will happen. Pac panicked and now they realized they did something dumb, but they're too far down the path to turn back now.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI think tomorrow will tell us a lot more than we know today.

No they will be in the exact same position they are in now. Top of the Mountain West year in and year out, double digit win seasons, still get the top LDS kids, bowl game every year, and still only make about 1 million per.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostSo is byu doomed or not?
Utah will be middle to lower half of the Pac-10 most years with an occasional top 3 finish, double digit wins every 10 years or so, still not get the top LDS kids, bowl games every other year at best, and make about 20 million per.
Good thing as a fan we do not see any of that money, so I like BYUs position.*Banned*

Not really doomed per se. BYU will be what it was before, one of three good teams in a below average conference.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostSo is byu doomed or not?

BYU and their fans will have to live absent the delusion of superiority. They are going to have to approach their detested rival as an underdog, which isn't all bad. But it's new to them; superiority complex has been a basic element of their coping and survival mechanisms. This is not the end of the world for them. Just the end of the world they believed was, but what they have believed never has been real; it's been a delusion.
So not much need change, the Utes have always been better and this is just confirmation of it. Actually, this could really make BYU stronger, which is somewhat scary. It helps a lot to confront reality. If it doesn't kill BYU it will make them stronger. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.
