I did a quick check on the latest local media reporting on this issue. Here you go:
Is Pac-16 still a possibility for Utah?
Reports say A&M has votes needed to go to SEC
Or maybe A&M doesn't have the votes
"This realignment picture is changing so fast, it's very hard to put a lot of stock into any one theory." Great advice.
Is Pac-16 still a possibility for Utah?
ESPN's Joe Schad and the Kansas City Star are reporting that Utah may be the top choice to fill out the Pac-16 if Texas A&M decides not to join fellow Big 12 members Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech in making the move in the near future. Colorado jumped ship last week.
"Hearing if A&M passes on Pac-10, Utah has edge on Kansas as potential 16th member," read a Twitter that Schad sent out Saturday.
The Kansas City Star reported that "a source close to the situation said Utah would likely be targeted by the Pac-10 before the Jayhawks."
Some other outlets, however, say otherwise.
Stay tuned.

Orangebloods.com is reporting Texas A&M regents have the votes needed to move to the SEC, with Utah likely bound for the Pac-10.
Other reports say the Utes aren't the favored team for the Pac-10, so believe who you want. From what I've been told Utah likely is ahead in the game for the final spot in the Pac-10 despite Kansas' push to join the league.
However, this realignment picture is changing so fast, it's very hard to put a lot of stock into any one theory.
There is no word yet from the Utes, but keep in mind the Pac-10 would have to make the first move, which might not come for a couple of days given the setting of Tuesday's meetings.
Several media outlets have reported SEC commissioner Mike Slive was in College Station today meeting with school officials.

According to this report in SI, Texas A&M hasn't polled its regents, at least not Gene Stallings. Take your pick of which report you want to believe.
