He's a better shooter than every last one of them. Sometimes, depending on how a game turns the shooter can be the most valuable or one of the most valuable pieces. Battier in game 7 of the finals. Mike Miller in last year's game 5.Originally posted by Applejack View PostReally? You think a likely future second round pick can hang with NBA all-stars and quasi-stars? I assume McDermott had a nice experience, but there is no way he's on the same level as the other guys.
Battier and Miller can't really hang with good NBA players, but because they possess that one skill, they can be the most important or second most important guys in a game. And again, in the case of McDermott, he's also a very good rebounder and can score from the post. McDermott is a first round lock, btw. The only question with him is whether or not he sneaks into the lottery. There is a reason he was invited to that camp - and it's not because he sucks.I'm like LeBron James.

You can certainly make the case based on the numbers. Not only did Hayward have a higher scoring rate, but pretty much every single scoring efficiency metric said he was more effective in creating those points as well. In scoring efficiency he trumped George in TS%, PPS, ORtg, etc., etc. The biggest factor being the fact that George gets to the line a shockingly little amount given his athleticism, and G-Time was far superior in that regard (both in terms of rate of getting to the line and converting). On the season G-Time created 22 more points at the line despite playing nearly 900 fewer minutes during the regular season.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostDid you honestly just say that Hayward is a superior offensive player than Paul George? You can't mean that.
But yeah, this would be one of the instances where I wouldn't be comfortable with the opinion despite what the numbers say.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Hayward becomes the focus of the offense, and thus opposing defenses as well. George's efficiency numbers dropped off somewhat this past year when Granger was out and Indiana made him their primary perimeter option. But that is part of what makes Hayward such an intriguing case to me. Dating even back to his rookie season, when Hayward has been given the green light and been made a much more integral part of the offensive scheme, his production AND efficiency has gone way up. During those points he still hasn't been the primary guy defenses have been schemed to stop, whereas Paul George was certainly that guy for Indiana opponents at times last year. But when Hayward has been handed the reigns of the offense in Utah he's been every bit as productive as George was last year and far more efficient.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostYou can certainly make the case based on the numbers. Paul George has built this rep around the league as a budding superstar, publicity he certainly deserves, but not because he's an awesome offensive force. George is an elite defender, good rebounder, and good offensive player. He went off in two games against the Heat in the playoffs, but otherwise he was bordering on bad on offense in the playoffs. Even though Geoge had the higher assist rate in a comparable post heavy offense, I think Hayward is the better passer and that will become more evident when/if the Jazz let him initiate the offense more, especially involving him in more SnR situations. The number weren't great for him in SnR situations last year, but they improved as the season progressed. I think both Hayward and the guys he was normally running those sets with just didn't have the experience needed to be as successful as their talent says they should be.
Hayward appears to have a bordering-on-elite combination of 3pt% and FTA rate, and he also has gotten better and better as his usage rate goes up. Last year George was an inefficient, high volume scorer playing on an inefficient offense. But now we'll see what Hayward does when he's the 1st or 2nd option on an offense.

bitf porn.Malone, who won Olympic gold medals in 1992 and 1996 as a member of Team USA, was notorious for his training regimens, and Favors said that holds true.
"When I’m with him," Favors said, "the intensity picks up. Whenever you do 10 [reps], now you work out with him you got to do 20. You shoot 100 shots, now you got to shoot 500 with him. So, the intensity goes up when I work out with him."
Favors had bulked up noticeably — a point observed also by Hayward — although the fourth-year forward said he has added muscle but maintained his playing weight. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.
