Hayward doesn’t believe that the Jazz’s renewed emphasis on building a “defensive foundation” — something Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey said will be more important than 2013-14 win-loss totals — is out of necessity due to a lack of firepower. He sees it more as giving the team more transition opportunities from making stops.

There have been reports that Lindsey has had meetings with Corbin to discuss certain things. I'll be interested to see what that means in terms of defense. Lindsey also said in an interview that if there's one thing he could be identified with it is defense. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I find myself really bummed about Enes' injury right now. Reading all these article about G-Time and Favors has me excited, and Enes had such a great summer last year that it sucks he's missing so much time right now. I know he's doing some rehab/conditioning work at P3, but I don't think he's been able to work on much skill development. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Interesting read on Ian Clarke, the summer league star that Utah just signed to a 2 year deal. 6'3" guard out of Belmont. His highlights look awfully similar to Jason Terry. He scored 33 in the Vegas summer league championship game.

Fits the Lindsey 3-and-D profile pretty well. Seems like he's auditioning guys for future supporting roles all over the floor.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostInteresting read on Ian Clarke, the summer league star that Utah just signed to a 2 year deal. 6'3" guard out of Belmont. From Locke.Just got this report from league executive watching USA mini camp in Vegas on Gordon and Derrick
Hayward looks good. Body looks great and played with a lot of confidence and is shooting lights out. Favors is huge. Played well but didn't stand out. Has become big and physical. about 6 hours agoSo Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Besides the advanced stats they listed in that article, 18 ppg, 54% FGs, 46% 3pt. Solid.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostInteresting read on Ian Clarke, the summer league star that Utah just signed to a 2 year deal. 6'3" guard out of Belmont. You and BGR specifically and maybe others. But honestly, I don't give a rat's ass about McDermott. I just know he is a ridiculously good offensive player right now and it's no shame to be mentioned with him.Originally posted by Applejack View PostLol. This is obviously directed at me. Hey now...I wasn't ever specifically ripping on McD. My original comment was directed at wapiti or whoever it was that tried to make a case that Hayward being a listed standout next to Jordan and McD somehow was less than meaningful because of who those players are. And if he was included in my "ugly girl" comment, I don't think we could argue that McD is ugly when put up next to the beauty of Lillard, Kyrie, Wall, George, etc.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostYou and BGR specifically and maybe others. Public service announcement for those that may not know: The Team USA scrimmage will be televised tonight on NBA TV. Unfortunately, McD will not be playing. Larry Sanders, Marcus Smart, and Doug McD will not be participating. So I think that means there are 25 guys left that will get time in the scrimmage. So unless they let them play for 2 hours, we probably won't see much of most of them.

For those of us without NBATV, do you or does anybody know if this will be streamed online somewhere?Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostPublic service announcement for those that may not know: The Team USA scrimmage will be televised tonight on NBA TV.
