Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Totally unsubstantiated rumor from Jazz board that Cleveland offered #1 and Waiters for Kanter and #14. Probably completely made up, but would you?
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

What do you think of Waiters? With guys like him you wonder if they're good or if they're just a guy filling a stat sheet on a bad team. I like Kanter better than Noel at this point, but I'm not too keen on taking on a guy that has a serious knee injury, especially if they're a big.

No. The UnderKanter is going to dominate this league.

Looks like McLemore might be that guy in this draft.

Looks like Utah gets Burke, they give up 14 and 21. That'll be fun. I used to be a huge Jazz fan and now I have a good reason to follow them again (assuming this sticks).

So does Utah still do the Stockton style pick & roll thing? That's Burke's bread and butter. A lot of similarities there, actually. Burke isn't an elite athlete, but he plays hard, is a great leader, runs the pick & roll to perfection, unselfish with the ball but knows when to take over a game, extremely high basketball IQ, and takes very good care of the ball.

I love this move. The 14 and 21 picks this year are just about worthless. To trade them for one of the six players who may be All-Stars one day is great.

                        I'd love to see

                        Burke
                        Burkes
                        Hayward
                        Favors
                        Kanter

start all year. Don't care if they lose 50 games. We need to see what these kids can do.

Not sure I'd go that far. This draft is actually very strong in the 15-45 range. Lots of talk about teams being able to get similar players at 35 and 15.

14 and 21 for Trey Burke? Well done Jazz!

The Jazz aren't looking for solid bench guys. So for them, worthless, IMO.
