The Jazz aren't looking for solid bench guys. So for them, worthless, IMO.
I was listening to the coverage on the radio when I was traveling between clinics and the list of guys that have been taken in those two spots is filled with a who's who of useless players over the last couple of decades.
I like the move.
So does Utah still do the Stockton style pick & roll thing? That's Burke's bread and butter. A lot of similarities there, actually. Burke isn't an elite athlete, but he plays hard, is a great leader, runs the pick & roll to perfection, unselfish with the ball but knows when to take over a game, extremely high basketball IQ, and takes very good care of the ball.
Well, I mean yeah. He's an extremely good athlete. He's just not quite on the level of Kyrie Irving. He'd have gone #1 if he did, because he's got everything else.
Edit: that play still makes me mad. One of the best blocks of the year and they called a foul. smh.

No, I agree with you. A bit more athleticism and an inch or two, and yes, he's #1 overall.
Just tuned in and didn't see the trade. Nice job Utah. Still weird pick for Minnesota. Bill Simmons was nails when he called him an unathletic James Harden who can't dribble.
If the Jazz can get Wolters in the 2nd round, and keep Jamaal Tinsley on a 1 year deal, I would like where the Jazz will be at PG going into this next season.
"Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."
Burke seems to be listed at 6'0" everywhere, but he measured at a legit 6'1" with very impressive 6'5.5" wingspan.
Yeah his measurables are all identical to Chris Paul's except for an extra ~10 pounds an extra inch of wingspan. Chris Paul would be Trey's absolute ceiling; I think the more important thing is that he has a high floor.

Excellent point about the high floor. Hard to imagine he won't be a long time starting PG in the league even if he never reaches an all-star level.

Love getting a guy who ran a ton of SnR, and it is an added bonus that he ran it on a team that had both really good athletes (Favors) and teammates who would pop rather than roll (Kanter).
