Karasev has gone back to Russia and won't be available for any individual team workouts. At least that is what his camp is saying now. He's generally projected from late lottery to about pick 25, so with Utah having two picks in that range they'll be a team that probably gets mentioned a lot as a potential stop for him.

At 19 years old I guess I'd take a shot late in the first round but how is he an improvement on the wing at all? 38% shooter from 3 with no defense skills or ability to attack the basket. I guess if the team doesn't re-sign Al they figure they might need to actually score somehow though.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostKarasev has gone back to Russia and won't be available for any individual team workouts. I think a team that wants to acquire an asset but preserve cap space will take him. Especially in light of the discussion on Twitter yesterday between NBA media about how the new CBA allows teams to draft a Euro player, announce that he won't be playing in the NBA next year, and any cap hold from his rookie salary goes away immediately. They were saying that is what Dallas will likely do with their pick, either on this Russian kid or Schroeder.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostAt 19 years old I guess I'd take a shot late in the first round but how is he an improvement on the wing at all? 38% shooter from 3 with no defense skills or ability to attack the basket. Jazz working out BGR's boy Tony Mitchell tomorrow.
Mixed reports on Schroeder workouts. Apparently killed in Dallas, but underwhelmed in Houston. But who knows what to believe at this point. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

I think it is interesting that they've got Larkin in with a bunch of much bigger players. Is it just how it worked out with his schedule and when his agent could get him in, or is this exactly the kind of group the Jazz wanted to see him go against?

I'm getting a pretty strong feeling the Jazz will look quite different next year. These guys will definitely be back:
Hayward
Burks
Kanter
Favors
M. Will
Evans
Murphy
Carroll
McNeal
Outside of that, I think they'll fill out the roster with this year's draft picks and by eating the contracts over overpriced veterans in exchange for some assets (picks). I also think they need a PG in FA. But that's about it.

I've hated hearing about what a nice guy Al is, or how the Jazz organization does things the right way, and that they value character a lot.
But I would be happy if Jeremy Evans was on the Jazz forever. I can't believe that he's headed into his 4th season and is still going around to tons of tiny Utah towns all during the off-season to visit schools. I know it is the place of the young guys and end of bench guys do to these trips, but it seems like he's done far more than his fair share already and he's still going strong. I do wish he was at a training facility instead, but I'd like to have this guy on the end of the bench in Utah for a long time.

Yep. Perfect 12th man. Doesn't complain, is a good guy and when he does get those rare opportunities to play, he brings energy and rarely does anything negative out on the court.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostBut I would be happy if Jeremy Evans was on the Jazz forever. Yesterday I was going to post a similar roster breakdown with the conclusion that 30 wins was in our future but feared the backlash would be too intest to continue to exist on CS.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI'm getting a pretty strong feeling the Jazz will look quite different next year. Backlash? On CS? For predicting a low (supposedly low, based on the last couple seasons) number of wins? WTF?! Give us pessimists a little credit, for crying out loud!Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostYesterday I was going to post a similar roster breakdown with the conclusion that 30 wins was in our future but feared the backlash would be too intest to continue to exist on CS.I'm like LeBron James.

Of course, though I don't necessarily want to win next year. Next year is the year to tank.
