I want them to invite DJ Stephens to camp. Have him and Jeremy Evans on the team to make the last 3 minutes of games more entertaining.

For the record, this was an awesome draft for the Jazz. Not even a minor gripe. Moving up for Burke was a great move, even if it was obvious. I give high marks to management for making the obviously right move. They don't always.
As far as Gobert, no opinion. Except that a 29" vertical is plenty for a guy that tall. More important is how quick he can get from catching the ball to 18" off the ground. And how quick he can react for blocking shots.Last edited by Jacob; 06-27-2013, 09:28 PM.

Just watched some highlights of him and he barely has to jump to dunk.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostHe "only" has a 29 inch max vert, but when you watch his highlight videos, a 29 in vert for him looks like a 35 inch max vert for your average 6'11" guy.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Dennis Lindsey says watching Hibbert specifically and how the league officiates the restricted area now made them really value having a huge rim protector. Having large rim protector is one of those things that is gaining more and more momentum around the league again. Landing Gobert was a priority for the team and they are grateful Miller opened up his checkbook to make it happen. Saw him in Chicago and in SLC, and thought he made significant improvement just from the time in Chicago to time in Utah in terms of understanding the game and competing against other guys. Looks huge and long even compared to Derrick and Enes. They anticipate that he'll be with the team next year. Lindsey talked to about 20 different people about Gobert's work ethic and every one talked about how hard he works and tries to get better. They think they got a big who is very motivated, and that's not always the case. Sloan saw him in SLC and also bought into his work ethic.

Now he can be everyone's favorite backup when Kanter or Favors struggles. Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

I like the idea of a big that can clog the lane, block and change shots, and not have to leave the floor to get it done. If he can add strength to his base, he should be able to stay on the floor more because he'll avoid foul trouble more than some other bigs might when they try to alter shots all of the time. I want to watch the lane on defense change from Al and Paul in together to Gobert and Favors.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostJust watched some highlights of him and he barely has to jump to dunk.

When Denver picked Gobert - before the trade was announced I honestly felt some frustration that Denver was getting him instead of the Jazz finding a way to snag him.I'm like LeBron James.

I'm sure he'll get a camp invite.Steve Luhm @sluhm 3m
BYU's Brandon Davies did not get drafted. But I know the Jazz loved his workout. Expect Utah to pursue him as a FA.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

If Gobert can be half of what Hibbert is, I'll be ecstatic. He makes Indiana what they are.

Late reports that Utah also traded for Neto. Lindsey calls him a "true PG". So there's that. From Ford's recap:
Neto was the Eurocamp's best guard a few weeks ago. He starts in the ACB, is super quick and really sees the floor well. Another draft-and-stash player.
