OK, maybe not. But he's no longer saying the Jazz pick Jimmer at 12. Instead, the Jazz pick Tristan Thompson.

I don't get it. A 6-8 PF who didn't impress as a freshman at Texas. Why would the Jazz want him? Ford has him ranked 13. DrafExpress has him at 16. Last think the Jazz need is an undersized PF who is a project. I'd rather have Jimmer. But right now, I'm hoping for Alec Burks.

He also has the Jazz picking Walker over Knight. I don't like that either.
Where are you guys seeing this?

I would like Burks with our 2nd pick, but I think our only shot at him would be with the Jersey pick.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Chad Ford's most recent update. Just came out during the Noon Sportscenter. I don't like Thompson as your second pick at all.

I hope Jimmer slides to the Lakers. Tell me that guy can't do what Steve Blake and Derek Fisher does.

Running it where the Jazz land #2 with the #12 pick, they come away with Derrick Williams and Brandon Knight. Although maybe they really aren't Jimmer fans. Pick #3 they take Kanter and pick #12 they take Thompson with Jimmer still on the board. That makes less sense IMO.
I think Ford said in chat that the lottery software isn't sophisticated enough to account for what a team picking twice in the lottery does with their first pick. So him moving Thompson up on the Jazz want list is just based on him believing they'd pick Thompson over Jimmer, unrelated to what they'd do with the first pick.

Oh, so it's not on the ESPN draft site then? How in the world are people watching Sportscenter at noon on a Friday?

Isn't the Lakers first pick in like the 40s? I doubt Jimmer slides that far.

I think the reason Thompson is that high has everything to do with his 7'2" wingspan and because he actually plays hard. But then I wonder why a guy with that length and athleticism that does play hard didn't do more.

Isn't it good Friday? Also, don't people watch Sportscenter if they go out for lunch?

                  Seriously!

Surfah probably hangs out and watches SC all day, occasionaly doing a little work on the side.

Do people get Sportcenter streamed to their offices on Good Friday or something?

The last SG that they drafted that shot 29% from 3 as a sophomore in college has done alright so far.

He does play hard and he's tough. He was one of the best defensive big men in the country, IMO (and in lots of people's opinions, IIRC) not so much due to his solid 2.5 blks per game - which is solid - but he was just a good man post defender. He made the game hard for whomever he was going up against. And while 13 and 8 in 30 minutes won't blow anybody away, it's not terrible and he was just a freshman. Lottery might be a little early, but in my mind, due to his toughness, motor, good size and defensive ability, he's a sure thing in terms of a guy who will contribute for a long time in the league.

I know next to nothing about him. The few times I did watch Texas I did so specifically to watch Jordan Hamilton.

                            • This is depressing. The Memphis Freaking Grizzlies a up 3-1 on the Spurs in a playoff series, and the Jazz are contemplating how to waste two low value lottery picks (in a weak, weak draft no less). It's like bizarro world.
