I haven't been around and following the comments here. But...

1st 20 games = Jazz are the worst team in the league.
Last 20 games = Jazz are the worst team in the league (OK, 2nd worst to Philly, barely)

This should be really disconcerting to me. But I just can't bother. This is what I wanted, I guess. If they don't have a dramatic turnaround next year, this is going to be a long decade.

They left for summer vacation two weeks ago.

This made me literal lol. Finally starting to see that trying to become the Clippers wasn't better than being a borderline playoff team? I still love you.

The key to tanking is only doing it once. The Jazz won't last in SLC if they become the Clippers. Gratefully, it isn't that hard to be a borderline playoff team in the NBA.

                      8. Derrick Favors

                      Improvement percentage: 6.7 | Age: 23

Favors' improvement as a pro has been gradual, but his recent play suggests he's ready to jump to a higher plateau. And in good news for Jazz fans, Utah has been less terrible lately when Favors and Enes Kanter share the floor.

I think it was this thread, though it might have been a different NBA thread, that I was told the Jazz would never relocate because of money.

Not quite. I'm not giving up on the plan, I've just lowered my expectations of current players. Jazz can be right back where they were by next year even without their top 5 pick being a superstar. But I was hoping lightning strikes and they compete for something more in a few more years. That won't happen unless they end up with an unlikely great player with their pick.

The Jazz need a legit alpha dog. They potentially have a very good supporting cast and cap room to add a quality vet. But until the all-star is found the Jazz are going no where. They also need a coach. There are some really good ones available right now so hopefully they get one.

I honestly haven't watched more than a handful of games this year, is the feeling that Burke could become that Alpha?

He definitely has the personality and the moxie of an Alpha, but I'm sure if he has the game.
