Never develops a shot?

He was a 40% 3pt shooter over 3 seasons coming into this year. His shot has left him, no doubt, but I don't think it's fair to say he's never developed a shot. The other thing is if you look at the correlation between his usage and shooting efficiency, there's basically an inverse relationship (which is not uncommon outside of total star players). I'd link the numbers but can't get to sports sites at work these days. At any rate, if you plug him back in secondary/tertiary scoring roles I'm positive his %'s will tick back up.

Thus the problem with Gordon. He could be an excellent 3rd option. But that leaves two questions.
1) Will they pay him like a 3rd option?
2) Who are options #1 and #2?

Well I can tell you they won't pay him like a 1st option. If they were going to they would have already done it. I don't know who option #1 will be, but there are a bunch of potential #2/3's, and we might just end up where you make due with that in lieu of a true #1 (like the Pistons with Chauncey, or even the Spurs last year).

This is easy stuff, man.

1), Yes, they will pay him like a top tier player, but it won't be a max contract. Try to find a good team that is not paying at least 3 guys $10mm+ per year. If you find one, it is probably because someone is on a rookie contract (like Portland with Lillard).
2). Derrick Favors and Jabari Parker. Wait. Reverse that. We don't need to think of it as needing someone to fit into slot #2 and slot #3. You have your genuine star, then you have a really good second tier (Hayward, Favors), then you are really solid through your next 5 guys (Burke, Burks, Kanter, free agent #1, free agent #2/Marvin) And you still have a few guys you hope turn our quite well (Gobert, Draft pick #1, Draft Pick #2). The Jazz still need some of those guys to grow into their roles, and maybe the sign a good second fiddle as a free agent. But if they get just a little lucky in the lottery, then they have a great group to work with.

Wiggins shining again today in the Big 12 tourney, against OSU with Embiid out. 26 points, three 3-pointers, 9-10 at the line, 4 rebounds and 3 assists with 5 minutes left. His average is almost right at 20 ppg in his last 14 games now.

As time winding down, the Rockets were dribbling out the clock, JLOL3 pads his stats stealing the ball, tries to feed the ball in to Gobert for a layup. Fran Garcia takes exception to it, shoves JLOLIII and they square up like they're going to box.
