Reuter News reports that Marc Rubio has met with Israel PM to discuss possible intervention (Military Strike) in Iran.

Looks like we are inching towards action.

Awaiting protestors ramping up on this as another reason to hate Trump without considering the loss of life and continued loss of life if there is none. Damned if you do.. Damned if you don’t..

Seems like these protestors are preventing the law enforcement in Iran from doing their jobs. The government has reported vandalism and widespread destruction of property. There's been video of fires in the streets. That means they aren't real protestors, right dabrockster? Heck, Iran has said that over a hundred law enforcement personnel have been killed, so it sure sounds like the members of law enforcement are just acting in self-defense, right? We can't possibly assume that the security forces are acting in repugnant ways, right?

You're the one that claimed that real protestors only do marches and sit-ins, or whatever. It seems that the protests in Iran have gone beyond that to the extent that the government in Iran is claiming the protestors are terrorists (sound familiar?). Tehran's mayor said the protestors have set fire to dozens of buses and public buildings. So are you now saying that there is a point at which you think protestors are justified in using violence, and that we should support them in using violence?

Or maybe, just maybe, there are circumstances in which a repressive government starts to lose its legitimacy. If Iran's government is illegitimate because it is repressing the Iranian people, the Iranian people retain the inherent right to alter or abolish it, by peaceful means if possible, and forcefully if not. You're cheering on the regime change in Iran. That's fine. The US should support the cause of liberty and humanity. Given this administration's track record, I have serious doubts that they care about that. I haven't seen anything suggesting the bazaaris will establish a more western-compliant government if the current government falls.

Just acknowledge that there are people in the US that are looking at the US government and noticing all the ways in which it has become increasingly repressive. That when the Iranian government decries a cause as "domestic terrorism" there may be cause to doubt that label, especially when the government has repeatedly lied about its actions. That when the US government decries a cause as "domestic terrorism," maybe we should question that for the same reason. That when there is violence, there is the possiblity, even in the US, that it is the government that has caused the violence. As far as I am concerned, the US government has lost the presumption of regularity through its own behavior, so when there is military action threatened, we need to look very, very closely at all the possible reasons for doing that, not just the "yeah Freedom" ones that the goverment throws out.

Actually frank, I was saying both.

Academic crackdowns. Removal of merit-based employees in the federal government, replaced by incompetent (but loyal) lackeys. Implementation of Nat-C goals in the federal workplace. Roving bands of loyal, flagrant racists demanding paperwork from citizens in the name of immigration enforcement. Complete lack of accountability when the Leader is in favor of the illegal actions, and outright pardons of crimes as long as the person is connected.

I think we are closer to Iran-style than we were 2 years ago. Does that mean that there is a perfect 1-to-1 comparison between the US now and Iran now? Of course not. Are we close? No, and JL and Dab are just pretending that's what I suggested.

But they're kidding themselves if they think we're not just a little bit closer to where Iran is today than we were before Trump 2.0.
