War with Iran - DEFCON 3

Turns out Iran fired a SAM at one of our MQ-9 Reaper drones in the vicinity of and prior to the two tanker attacks. This plus the "specific and credible" intel suggesting Iranian forces and their proxies would target US Forces in Iraq, Syria, and at sea means that things are heating up quite a bit.

I would say we're probably at a DEFCON 3 equivalent as to whether we go to war with Iran.

Using a defcon scale on CS makes me sure it will never happen
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I forget the scale. If the defcon is a 3, is it good-looking, or ugly?

At DEFCON 1 we get to send the nukes.

When is the last time we’ve been at DEFCON 2 do you suppose?

Wikipedia says during the Gulf War in 1991. I honestly never hear anything about DEFCON at my level. In the Army we use our own terms which have changed over the years.

FWIW - there is no increase in the threat level when entering HAFB

Sounds like Iran shot down one of our drones over international airspace.

That might be THREATCON and not DEFCON.

Right. Plus I honestly don't know how often DoD actually uses DEFCON.

True, but when the THREATCON goes up - DEFCON normally isn't too far behind
