I have always been of the opinion of, “If you openly cover/want something and push for it (Awards or Public Recognition).. You shouldn’t get it.”Originally posted by chrisrenrut View Post
Well, Trump's timing was off. If he had resolved the Russia/Ukraine and Israel/Gaza conflicts on Day 1 like he promised, he would have his coveted Nobel Peace prize.

He's got the Danish war-gaming for a potential invasion. That's pretty awful. There is also the unspoken reality of uninformed our intelligence services must be because allies can't trust this administration.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostI would be all for giving Trump the Nobel Peace Prize next year if he weren't blowing up boats in the Caribbean and making threats of invading Greenland. Seems like those things should disqualify him.
The absolute gashing of America's soft power doesn't get enough attention. It's a tragedy.

Curious. Were you of the same opinion while Obama was doing drone strikes in Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Syria and Iraq which had significant civilian casualties?Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostI would be all for giving Trump the Nobel Peace Prize next year if he weren't blowing up boats in the Caribbean and making threats of invading Greenland. What does that have to do with his concerns about Trump? Trump has drone striked more people than Bush or Obama.Originally posted by dabrockster View Post

No, I never considered him a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. And in fact, he had congressional authority to wage his wars, but even so, I think he too overstepped. I was happy that the drones took the heat off sending more ground troops in, particularly Iraq and Syria.Originally posted by dabrockster View Post

Where is Trump's authority to blow up boats in the Caribbean? There's gonna be some military members with long term mental health issues for carrying out those orders. Mark my word. I've seen these problems first hand.

This cost of military service or le is so under-acknowledged. Living with the stress and trauma of orders and decisions that have real life/death impactOriginally posted by Bo Diddley View Post

Isn’t Venezuela considered a terrorist state and drug cartels as well. Does this not place the same congressional authority to do drone strikes? Trying to see the difference and consistency in your opinion which you do. Thank you for answering my question. Neither Obama or Trump had congressional authority except the use of previous AUMF dated as far back as 2001 and 2002.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post

Although I am still of the opinion he should not get it. While peace in the ME is significant, his desire to be awarded seems to go completely contrary to the purpose of the award. And other actions should be taken into consideration.
Frank: Stop trying to engage me. We will never see equal on any political point. I prefer you and I not communicate at all. You are without any unbiased opinion and fall so far to one side that I see no need to even have a conversation politically. This is my line in the sand because overall I think you and I see eye-to-eye in other things but your constant blowing of the horn of Trump is evil is equivalent to the preachers I see on the corner of the state capital. They may have some good points but they are not rational enough to engage. So, please, stop.

No, Venezuela is not considered a terrorist state. President Trump designated drug cartels terrorists earlier this year. So I suppose the line of reasoning is he can designate who he wants as terrorists and then use the AUMF to go after them. Not buying it. Drug cartels are not fighting an ideological war. It's too much of a stretch for me.Originally posted by dabrockster View Post

Obama was using the same AUMF force years later, but we were still engaged in war from when they were originally authorized by Congress. And we have never fully withdrawn, so we haven't even completely disengaged even today.
I don't care about his desire for the award. That shouldn't matter. Let that desire motivate him to work harder to end the war in Ukraine.

More very bad Trump.
She must have gripped the steering wheel too tight while being Hispanic.
Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

How messed up is that people don't even know who they are dealing with. What is to stop criminals and kidnappers from dressing in commando gear and throwing people into cars and driving away?Originally posted by myboynoah View PostMore very bad Trump.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
Dig your own grave, and save!
