Wait, Bovino. That sounds like a foreign name. GET HIM!
We need the Supreme Court to step up.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.
They are not arresting people just for being scared, they are using visual cues to ascertain reasonable suspicion. Big difference.

Sheesh, things are crazy enough as is. Why embellish?

They can detain you without a warrant until they figure out whether or not you are a U.S. citizen. That's messed up, dude.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Now who is being misleading? The tweet actually says:

"Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight."

Which is accurate. ICE agents are allowed to use skin color, body language, language, etc. as indicators of reasonable suspicion. With reasonable suspicion, they can detain you to see if there is probable cause for an arrest. No one here is claiming that ICE can arrest people for being scared.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Dig your own grave, and save!

They are using that for probable cause. I don't trust them to do this fairly? Do you?

            • Trump is slashing federal money from states he didn't vote for him. What other cruel thing will he do today?

They've detained people for days. The executive branch is wildly abusing their power and I don't see a mechanism to reign them if mess with our elections.

Now read the second part of the tweet.

That's a really dangerous way to ascertain reasonable suspicion. The second part of the tweet may be written dramatically, but it's sure convenient for ICE to be able to go out and scare brown people for 11 months and then to pretend that looking scared is sufficient for detainment.

As an aside, this dude looks like central casting asked for "fascist dick."

                      • All I did was comment on the misleading hyperbole in the second half of the tweet. That doesn't condone anything. Sheesh.

                        • I don't understand. ICE is detaining AmCits, sometimes for days, as part of its sweeps to find undocumented aliens. To any reasonable person, that appears to be an "arrest," most certainly to any AmCit caught up in the operation. I don't see the hyperbole of using "arrest" instead of the more correct term "detain." What Trump is doing with ICE is bad, very bad, and frankly, unbelievable.

                          • Yeah. I'm not following the hyperbole either.

Sure, headlines are limited in what they can contain and can lack context and nuance, but I pretty much got the gist of it from this one.

                            • You know, if Trump solved the Gaza issue and can bring lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians, I say give him the Nobel Peace prize.

The other 7 imaginary wars he says he solved would pale in comparison.

This is an outrage! As we found out during the aftermath of the Charlie Kirk assasination and the LDS Church mass shooting pastors always full of goodness and light! They would never cause trouble, disrupt government operations, and have nothing but the kindest of things to say about LDS folks and our membership in the fold of Christian churches.

How dare the evil government henchmen!
