Telegram channel claiming to be that of Pro-Russian Vostok battalion commander Aleksandr Khodakovsky. That post, translated, says:
(My emphasis and colorization)
After the Mariupol operation, we considered that we suffered most of the losses from friendly fire. Someone even called the figure - sixty percent. This is an ordinary phenomenon, but its spread depends, of course, on the competence of commanders - especially artillerymen.
We are completing the task, when suddenly mines began to fall on our heads from the rear. Who? Where? Raise the copter, find a mortar battery, rush there...
- Who are these guys!?
- The Ministry of Battalion of such and such a regiment from Russia.
- Why are you hitting on us?
- We are not for you - for a point on the map. We've been assigned a task, and we're doing it.
- So no one corrects you, you shoot at the map the old fashioned way ...
- Well, so..."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

I don't know much about the current Russian artillery order of battle (my time as an artillery S2 was over 20 years ago), but that battalion commander needs to check his own people, who are likely giving the points on the map to the artillery guns. Bad data from the forward troops leads to bad targeting by the guns.Last edited by Copelius; 11-05-2022, 11:08 AM.“Every player dreams of being a Yankee, and if they don’t it’s because they never got the chance.” Aroldis Chapman

I don't know the intimate details of how command works, but lots of people have noted the dearth of non-commissioned officers in the Russia Army, and how troops are unable to make decisions in the field because their officers are usually not with them, but give them a command and either go elsewhere or go in a command vehicle or Lt. Well, there are more than a few drone videos of Russian soldiers copulating with one another or with livestock, so maybe both?Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostHaha. Russia is really trying to hit infrastructure hard tonight. Look at all of those Air Raid warnings and Air Defense blue icons. Let's hope that the air defense works with absolute efficiency. Their electrical grid is hurting. Their rail system has also been targeted lately, prompting Zelensky to praise the railroad workers in one of his nightly addresses.

Is my curating still interesting to everyone? I sometimes wonder if I post too often, or if what's interesting to me is interesting in general. Give me some feedback, if yall would."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

I like it, but then I've been devouring info from the war from the beginning. Don't feel obligated though if it's cumbersome. I feel a little lazy leeching off you. I do skip anything with gore, and probably most with active violence.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostIs my curating still interesting to everyone? I've been devouring stuff since late January. As I'm "retired" now, I've got time, and my back's as crooked as Mitch McConnell, so the sedentary life suits me, and I'm fascinated with the inspiring leadership of Zelensky in the face of naked aggression and genocide.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View Post

I am starting physical therapy on Friday, so we'll see how it goes. I want to get back in the pool after a five-year absence.
