Yes. This is what people don't remember: Trump out performed the polling in both elections. He is poison to his party in that they do worse overall with him at the head and most people he endorses lose. But he himself does better than the predictions. If he enters November with a 2 point lead we are screwed. He only needs to be 2-3 points down to have a clear path in the EC.
This is what has me most concerned about the polls. If I were to put money down today, I would put it on Trump to win. Reasons Biden loses:

1a. He's too old and senile.
1b. Kamala Harris is not an exciting running mate or presidential replacement
1c. That report that reinforces his senility.
    2. Israel/Gaza
    3. The economy - it's humming along but people still remember or feel the pain of the inflation, and mortgage rates are no longer the bargain people remember.
    4. He's uninspiring to his base, and the Maga base is even more energized than ever. Patriots from Jan 6 are being persecuted in the courts. More importantly, Trump is being persecuted in the courts.

I'm sure I've overlooked a few reasons, but those are probably the main ones. Still, the election is forever away, and anything can still happen.

It means the number of people nominated for positions and willing to serve matched the number of positions available so we didn’t have to do a secret ballot vote.

      • ugh haley

Instead, Haley will call on Trump to earn the support of voters who backed her. That plan appears to leave the room for her to endorse Trump ahead of the general election in November.

        • Now that Donald Trump has secured the nomination, he and his followers can now pivot to messaging for the general election by being more conciliatory, less bombastic, and advocating for a more big tent GOP.

                Why limit it to politics?
                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

OK, I am glad I went. I live in a great neighborhood. The words "Trump" or "MAGA" were not mentioned a single time all night long. Just a friendly process of electing delegates, each of whom gave nice pitches. I mentioned to one neighbor that I was only there to vote against Trump and she high-fived me.

Just looked up the results for Utah: 57% Trump, 42% Haley. We have a lot of sane people here.

                    • I was surprised that my precinct narrowly went to Haley. 48-45.

I don't remember much talk about Trump, but there was some talk about how parents are important, and teachers aren't, also vaccines and masks being force on us by the government.

In other news, the defamation suit against Kari Lake lives on, decides the court in AZ. Apparently a settlement is off the table without a public statement with the words "Sorry, I lied" included.
