    Pretty easy to opt out.

Yeah, this. Donating to Mitt kind of sucked in that way.

      • Pence is such a lightweight. Drop out already.

What more could you really want from the executive? If you have hesitations at his age and vigor that’s fair, but pre-Trump he would be considered a dream by Americans writ large.
Hi, broken record here. When it comes to debt, the most pressing issue threatening the future of the republic, I think you give the Democrats way too much credit for being moderate. Look at the FY outlays since the onset of the pandemic as a % of FY 2019 outlays (using constant dollars)

          2020 - 147%
          2021 - 153%
          2022 - 141%
          2023 - 143% (estimate)

I think 2020 was overboard but understandable due to the once in a century challenge facing the global economy. 2021 was crazy to still be that high and was largely due to the nearly $2 Trillion American Rescue Plan passed as Biden's first major win. The only reason 2022 and 2023 aren't 175% or 200% of 2019 is because of Sinema and Manchin, not Biden or the supposedly moderate national Democrats. Build Back Better was a conglomerate of every Democrat fiscal wet dream since the Great Society and every moderate Democrat Senator was behind it except for the two noted above. We were extremely close to resetting our existing fiscal time bomb several decades earlier.

Republicans obviously suck at fiscal responsibility as well. But the insanity of the current iteration of the Republican party allows the national Democrats to pose as moderates. The culture wars are dumb. If we don't fix our debt issues nothing else will matter and on fiscal policy the national Democrats are much closer to AOC than Sinema.

I have not paid a ton of attention to specific pitches of each candidate. Does what he is selling include begging forgiveness for torpedoing Marco Rubio's candidacy out of pure spite and then turning around and immediately becoming the first major R candidate to drop out and endorse Trump? Because if it doesn't include that then it rings a little hollow for me. It's hard to pose as never-Trump when you played a huge part in advancing and legitimizing him for your party base.

Pathetic. When sleepy eyes Chuck Todd runs circles around you it’s time to hang it up.

you’re never going to be president. Like, never.

His message is 100% on what a lunatic Trump is and how we need to dump him. I’m so drunk on hearing a Republican presidential candidate goes so hard after Trump that I am willing to forgive the man.

I’m slightly buzzed but still wary of Christie. It will be interesting to see what he does and say when/if Trump wins the nomination.

                      • I'm happy Christie is running because he'll do better than anyone else against Trump in the debates, but I'd have a very hard time forgiving him for turning Trump into a mainstream (in his way) candidate and paving the way for Trump to win in 2016. 'Twould be fun to watch them destroy each other.

                            • And then there were 12. Will Hurd, former Texas congressman, who actually doesn’t seem to be that bad. Good luck on getting that 1% in polls to qualify for debates.

He is a plant, like Tulsi Gabbard, intended to bog down and delay Biden from having momentum. When his campaign ends, I'm sure he will take a similar right wing news show and speaking route.
