The problem is that because of past biases/racism/sexism, there aren’t enough diverse candidates in the pipeline and a lot of lower performing candidates are being promoted and rewarded at the higher levels. It is frustrating for a lot of people.
Like I mentioned, I’m a big supporter of diversity and it should be considered in hiring and other aspects of the business. I’ve got some great diverse employees I’m working with, but it shouldn’t be to the point that diverse employees are blatantly favored over more qualified, higher impacting employees.
