This seems like a correct post-mortem:

I'm not sure if Afghanistan moved the needle much, but a solid yes on everything else he said. A Harris win was going to be a very tall order in the best of circumstances. The perception of the economy, even when it started getting better this year, was too pervasive for a short Harris campaign to overcome. I expected 4 years was a short enough memory for America, but I guess we've underestimated Trump's ability to whip up support in the right parts of the country twice now.

Biden's perfidy should never be forgotten.

You can’t run the vice president of one of the most unpopular presidents in history and expect people to get excited about voting for her.

Yes, this is Joe Biden’s fault. What a schmuck.

Cults of personality are real. In no sane world should be a serious candidate. But I doubt we will see the fake right-wing champions of free speech object to these shenanigans:

Journalists from multiple news organizations have been denied credentials to former President Donald Trump’s election night watch event in West Palm Beach, Florida, in retaliation for their coverage of Trump’s campaign.

Reporters at Politico, Axios, Puck, Voice of America and Mother Jones were among those denied credentials. Some, like Politico, had been previously granted access to the Tuesday night event only to have the decision reversed.

Politico’s team of reporters and a photographer were initially approved to attend the event, but on Tuesday morning were surprised to find they had been denied credentials, a person familiar with the matter told CNN. The person suggested the decision was made in response to an article in Politico magazine, which reported that a Trump campaign field director was fired for being a White nationalist.

I think this is correct, but I also think the establishment dems doubling down on their version of identity politics played a large roll as well. The MAGA crowd plays identity politics for sure, but it is much less hated than the DEI, race essentialism, and sexual politics.

No one really gave a shit about that or even knew what DEI stood for until GOP/MAGA decided it should be a moral and existential problem. Suckers for the culture war hysteria.

This is something progressives are in massive denial about.

                            • I saw on Twitter that Fox called Pennsylvania for Trump. That's it.

Crazy how expectations went from a long night but a probable Harris win, to a squeaker after a couple of days, to a Trump victory before midnight my time.

                              • I'm ;bouncing around - MSNBC, FOX, CSPAN, NewsNation

Fox just called PA for Trump
The R's are going to pick up 3 or 4 seats in the Senate

The big question is can the R's hold the house right now they are up 2, but CA has not come in

IMO, the Dems ran just about the worst candidate and campaign ever, maybe even worse than the Rep in '64 with Goldwater - and it was still fairly close

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."
