So while it's interesting to see what he had to say, and his opinions on Walz's sucessor, it doesn't really carry any more weight than the opinion of my wife's Col. I think the Dems blew it…with appointing Harris as their presidential candidate and with the VP pick. Major Pete would have been a much better selection. Even though he comes across like a smart ass (which reminds me of Ted Cruz) the guy can handle an interview with ease. I watch his interview on CNN and the guy is super intelligent. Both Harris and Walz have the collective intelligence of a small soup dish.

Perfect Trump-style statement here, Ted. Let me break it down:

1. "I think the Dems blew it..." - Declaring out loud what he wishes were true.

2. "Major Pete [sic] would have been a much better selection" - Trump would prefer Buttigieg because he can't imagine losing to a small gay man from flyover country.

3. "the guy can handle an interview with ease" - suddenly praising Mayor Pete, when he had zero good things to say 5 minutes before.

4. "the guy is super intelligent" - aware that Buttigieg has been wiping the floor with conservative cable news hosts, concludes that it can only be the incredible intelligence of the messenger, not the message.

This is just a symptom of living in a MAGA bubble/echo chamber. The algorithms and cable news feed them what they want to hear, and none of what is real or what the opposition says to refute.

Also, can we all just stop the non-sense that he lied about his rank. He did attain the rank of Command Sargent Major while in the guard. He retired at a lower rank because he needed to be in the rank of CSM for three years to receive that retirement benefit, which he did not achieve. Thus he retired as a lower rank.

Also, he was in the guard for 24 freaking years...that is nothing to sneeze at and should be honored.

Can we now put away this nothing burger?

None of the things Ted has highlighted in his many posts about Walz's military service violate The Stolen Valor Act of 2013 (it's a one-minute read) which is limited to making false representations about military medals and awards received.

Isn’t a rank considered a military decoration or award? Rank insignias are worn on uniforms (even put on congressional coins) just like metals. If not please refer to me as commander-in-chief Ted from now on.
