      and what about his rank?

if he retired did he still get to keep his rank even if he didn’t serve the required period?
Honestly, it doesn't even moveG the needle for me. Like I say, he's a talker. Did he ever sign anything CSM(ret)? Any pics of him wearing a uniform post retirement with CSM rank?

      • Oh no, the credible Joey Mannarino is the source of some of Ted's info. We have to take this guy's insight super seriously.

White male MAGA influencer roasted for claiming to be a Black woman who would never vote for Kamala Harris

A supporter of former President Donald Trump stands accused of pretending to be a Black woman on social media to attack Vice President Kamala Harris. He said it’s all a misunderstanding.

Pro-Trump influencer Joey Mannarino said to his more than 488,000 followers on X on Tuesday that he was a “TRUE Black American woman” before vowing to never vote for Harris.

“I’m a TRUE Black American woman and I’ve been Black all my life. I was born Black and I will die Black,” Mannarino wrote. “My mommy was Black. My daddy Black. I will NEVER cast a ballot for that Kamala Harris woman as long as I live! Trump all the way, all day everyday!”

Mannarino’s text was also shared alongside an image of Black Trump supporter Lavern Spicer that was quickly deleted, but not before countless users captured screenshots and videos of the post.

He was a CSM at the time he retired, correct? That his rank was reduced as required by regulation doesn't change that, although I get the confusion created by his saying he is a retired CSM. In a way, he was, then he wasn't. Seems like a nitpick, especially relative to Trump's military service. I think there are better ways to go after Harris and Walz than these stupid arguments, but I'm happy Trump doesn't have the smarts to do so, apparently.

That's the funny thing. I don't think any of this nitpicking helps Trump. If his campaign were smart they would go after Harris/ Walz for being too liberal, etc. But no, they go after stupid things like Walz's military record, helicopter ride stories, and crowd sizes. It is incredibly dumb and I hope they keep doing it.

It's just meat fpr MAGA. I love how they are running this campaign.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I'm sure he has ruffled some feathers of other vets, but his transgressions are common enough for most to simply ignore.

I've served with people who were much worse.

Of course, he may have “misspoke”

there are lots of videos where he is referred to as a combat vet but he never bothers to correct them

                  • Seems like a silly policy to give someone a rank or title and then take it away when they retire. I’m sure they could figure out pension or other benefits based on the years served. No need to downgrade their rank.

                    What an I missing?

He's still retweeting that guy who pretended to be a black woman disavowing Kamala. These are way better sources than the legacy media.

Joey Mannarino, an otherwise unremarkable Trump supporter, forgot to switch accounts for a tweet about his blackness.

"I'm a TRUE Black American woman and I've been Black all my life," he begins in indicatively assertive fashion.

"I was born Black and I will die Black," he continues, inaccurately.

"My mommy Black. My daddy Black," he added, in what appears to be a spray-hairlined Trump guy's perception of African-American dialect. "I will NEVER cast a ballot for that Kamala Harris woman as long as I live! Trump all the way, all day every day."

Immediately exposed, he blamed it on using "a friend's device" without convincing elaboration.

As I understand it he was "frocked" or serving provisionally as CSM. He would not have received his full CSM bona fides until he had completed the SM academy. So even though he was serving in a CSM position and being paid as such, his permanent rank was still MSG. This happened far more often in wartime. For examples, see the rank listings on Wikipedia of just about any general who served in either WW. Specifically, Patton finished WWI as a Colonel, but was reverted to Captain in the regular army upon the drawdown at the end of the war. Probably not an exact match, but close as I can get from my time in system.

Like Bo said, it is mostly much ado about nothing, though I can see how it ruffles feathers to many vets.

You know the Army goes back & forth on whether you need your schooling for the rank completed before or after you're promoted within a certain amount of time. I do remember they opened it up without school at the beginning of the war, but maybe that just applied to mobilized soldiers.

I'll bet he wasn't just frocked but was getting paid as an E9.

There are some goofy rules in the Army, and as far as stolen valor goes, I think it's a stretch, or at least pretty low on the totem pole of transgressions. How you feel about it is likely influenced heavily by which tribe with which you identify.

That's right, frocking is to wear the rank without the pay. I misspoke.
