      • I haven't talked to my son yet, but he's off Sunday's, and Friday's. I'll tell him I'll pay for his golf, and that way he'll show up for sure. You'll like him as he's a big teddy bear, very sociable, and a good golfing partner. He says his game is much improved, but I have a feeling he views a lost ball as penalty enough and not worth noting.

Thanks for the invite, it would be good for him.

We had to make a slight change of plans...there is a golf course that was mega packed on Friday.

Are you using your right or left hand?

Tick and DT, I humbly apologize. The DR's office called to remind me of my appointment Monday afternoon for my cortizone shots. He is in Bountiful only Monday and Friday's and I couldn't reschedule for two week.

I was really looking forward to playing TP with you fellows.

The right one. It is the stronger one due to excercise.

                  • After my bad round on Thursday, I decided I needed to take a break, and stay away from golf for a couple of weeks. So, I told my wife that I wasn't going to play on Saturday. Well, you would have thought I kicked a puppy from her reaction. She told me to buck up, and get back out there. "Your never gonna get better by not playing." So I'm in group 9 teeing off at 8:40.

I wonder who her boyfriend is... the one she sees every Saturday morning from 8-2.

I hope you have a good round, but playing in a group of 9 sounds worse than not playing.

                      • Golf Report, Saturday Aug 25, 2012 (Men's Club)

                        44+40+41= 84 & 81. (front-back-front)

                        Zero Birdies... in 27 holes.

Perfect day for golfing. 72*, light breeze, very pleasant playing partners. I played good, except for hole three, where I took a triple. The rest of the day was all bogies and pars, no birdies or double bogies. It seems I made a new friend today. Playing partner Steve, whom I never played with before, and who is a 5 handicap, was a really nice fellow, and we got along great. On the 18th hole he says that was the most fun round he's had in a long time - Do you wanna keep going? Why not, the weather was perfect, we were playing good, and we just kept going. Steve is a voracious reader, and was telling me about Tai Chi Golf, and how the inner game is more important than the swing. Well, he is the calmest good golfer I've ever seen. He never once showed a negative emotion, and he joyfully celebrated a good shot. It was contagious and made the whole round better for everyone. I had a total kick playing with this guy. We didn't trade phone numbers, so I'm going to have to hang out at the club and pretend to run into him from time to time.

                        • Golf report Sunday, August 26 (1st round of 2012 mancation). Played Talon's Cove this morning with Tick and we were also joined by Clackamas's youngest son ( for reference in the picture below, Tick is 6'2".

Anyways, it was a great morning for golf. It was the first round using my new Ping set. I was nervous as up until this morning I hadn't had an opportunity to hit the clubs yet and we arrived to the course about 30 minutes prior to our tee time. I grabbed a small bucket and was only able get through about half of that before our tee time. I was feeling great after the abbreviated range session and the clubs felt great. I was still unsure of some of the distances, but I was striking the ball well.

                          41+50= 91 ( 1 birdie, 6 pars, 7 bogeys, 3 triples, 1 quad. )

I played really well on the front. I tied my best 9 ever @ 41 even with a triple on hole # 8. The back I played feel I played well, but had a few blow ups.

I am in love with the irons. I was contemplating going with the G20's buy I am glad I decided to go with the I20's. I feel like I can attack the pins. I anticipate lower scores as I figure these new clubs out.

Hey... that's my boy! I haven't talked with him yet. Was he well behaved, and not divulge any family secrets? How did he play? He says he's been doing better, but a third party account would nice. He's like a carbon copy of me (albeit four inches taller) in case you were wondering.

We had a great time! He is a great kid and can really mash the ball, albeit he was a little all over the place today and struggled with control all day. As far as family secrets go....well, lets just say we got some juicy Clack info which we'll just keep in our back pocket for a rainy day...

But seriously, I can tell he has the potential to really play well. We may be meeting up with him at Wasatch Saturday.

                              • Had an early morning round @ Cedar Hills GC. 50+46= 96 (1 birdie, 4 pars, 6 bogeys, 2 doubles, 5 triples). I struggled early and often on the front, 1 fairway, 1 gir. I found my swing on the back 9 and played much better but still scored poorly. I missed my eagle putt on 18 by an inch and was left with a tap in birdie. This was my first time playing Cesar Hills and I really enjoyed the course.

                                This afternoon is Thanksgiving Pointe.
