However, if the ball is sitting up in a fluffy lie, I'll use my 56° as I tend to go underneath the ball if it is sitting up too much.

Upon further review, the Camo Z-Stars are actually white. Just the packaging is camo and a portion of the sales goes to support the USO.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostCamo? I'm not sure about that. I don't see the yellow ones on there."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I just barely bought a Cleveland 60 degree wedge double dot. Right now I'm hit or miss with it. I've never had a loft this steep so my distance is a bit out of whack. I need to spend some time pitching with it to get a good feel.Originally posted by Surfah View PostWhat wedges do you guys carry in your bag? How many? Lofts? Bounce? Brands?
Edit: I ask because I am in the market and looking. Currently I just use the PW from my iron set. And I use a SW a Big Bertha Irons set.
I did hit a sweet shot with it today. I has right behind a bunker and had about 20 yards to the pin (12 yards over the bunker, 5 yards of grass/fringe, and 3 yards of green. I used the 60o wedge and hit a normal pitch shot that landed on the green and rolled about two feet from the pin. Prior to buying this wedge, I would have had to really open up my pitching wedge for a shot like that, which usually resulted in me either blading the ball and sending it over the green or hitting it way short."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Went golfing today and shot a 92 (from the senior tees). I had double bogeyitis on the front 9 as I couldn't put together a good string of hits. Pitching/chipping and putting all sucked. I'm getting used to a new wedge and should have spent more time hitting it before the round.

Shot a 54 on the front, but played better than my score. Started the back par, bogey, double, par, bogey for a 24 through 14. It had started raining on 9 and on the 15th tee we were waiting for the group in front of us in the fairway when the marshall came around blowing an air horn saying that we had to clear the course because of lightning. I think it would have been close to break 100. Maybe next time.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI am really starting to feel like I am figuring things out. My last 5 rounds are 94, 102, 94, 108, 94.
The 102 was with clack and I kept feeling like I was close to putting things together with him, then the 108 was the other day with a guy from work and it was his 2nd round of golf in 4 years and I just had a hard time staying focused.
Playing tomorrow and I'm hoping for my first back to back sub-100 rounds.
How am I supposed to enter that score in the handicap computer? It doesn't seem fair to have to enter a 54 for 9 when my 18 score wouldn't have been 108+.Get confident, stupid

I'm looking to get into a fairway wood. I haven't had one in my bag for a long time because I couldn't hit them, but I think my swing may have calmed down to the point I might be able to make use of one. I noticed after 3 rounds this weekend that I have a sizeable gap between my driver and my next hittable club, which is a 5 or 6 iron (I tend to hit my 4 hybrid about as far as my 6).
Anyway, in case the experiment turns out to be a total disaster, I'm looking for something cheeeeeeap. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking at these right now:

...and that's it. Actually, this one's not in stock anyway. So I really need a suggestion now.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

What kind of gap in distance are you talking about? Have you looked at a 4 Wood? Something about 17-18 degrees?Originally posted by falafel View PostI'm looking to get into a fairway wood. With 200 yards (or more) left to the pin, I've got nothing to hit. By 4 wood, do you mean a hybrid?Originally posted by Surfah View PostWhat kind of gap in distance are you talking about? I've written about my favorite club of all time. It was a perfect club.Originally posted by falafel View PostI'm looking to get into a fairway wood. That Callaway looks like a pretty good deal too.

No I mean a 4 fairway wood. 17-18 degrees. Few clubmakers produce them. I believe Ping does and some others. There are lots of arguments for them on several golf forums. In the Golf Digest Hot List issue this year they said that every mid-high handicapper should put one in their bag and take out their 3W.Originally posted by falafel View PostWith 200 yards (or more) left to the pin, I've got nothing to hit. Edit: Golfio and golfetail.com have both offered that same Callaway and the 2008 model a few times over the past two months or so from $60-80. I'd sign up for their newsletter so you get the updates if I were you.Last edited by Surfah; 09-22-2010, 08:38 PM."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I'm now signed up for more golf club spam mail than ever before.

Not my lowest round ever, but today was the best golf I have ever played. Today we decided to load up and go from the black tees for giggles. I didn't get out of the gate well, I was swinging too hard and playing the back tees was getting to my head. I went double, double, quad to start. I settled down and started hitting the ball really well and leaving myself in spots where I wasn't going to do more than 2 putt.
Finished shooting 95 which I was thrilled about, Diamond Woods is a fun tough course and I have never played all the way back on any course before.Get confident, stupid
