What wedges do you guys carry in your bag? How many? Lofts? Bounce? Brands?

Edit: I ask because I am in the market and looking. Currently I just use the PW from my iron set. And I use a SW a Big Bertha Irons set.

I use Cleveland CG14's in 56° and 60°. I like them alot.

I still have 2 dozen of my logoed Pro-V1 left. Next year I think I'm switching to Bridgestones though. What ball do you play with?

No it is the green, I sunk the ball 1/4 way down on my approach. I just took the picture about an hour ago, so they are a little slower than first thing in the morning when they are mowed.

I joke about the Pro V1 being garbage. I rather like it. I was mostly mocking clack with that comment. (Hey clack, I said mocking, but I meant playfully mocking. As in giving you a hard time.) If I had my druthers, I'd play with the Taylormade TP Black. It's a 3-piece ball that gives me the length I want and the touch around the greens I need. But I'm too cheap to pay for them, so I usually end up golfing Maxfli noodles.

Speaking of expensive, have you seen how much the new Taylormade PentaTPs cost? 48 bucks a dozen.

That makes two of us. I have the CG14 in 52° and 56°, and I have a 60° CG12. Zip grooves, baby.

I've heard the CG15 is amazing (legal to use but they're not making it anymore). Supposedly it stops on a dime.

Don't know how long this deal lasts but these are some great prices. $29.99 for some of these brands except the Srixon Z-Stars in Tour Yellow (Awesome ball) and the PentaTPs which are $34.99/dz.

See... great minds think alike. Those were my exact thoughts. What the heck kind of green is that... and more Pro V1.

My favorite part of playing with HFNW last week was he pulled out a yellow Srixon ball, and said he hates Titleist's. I'm sure he was playing to the crowd but the Srixon had plenty of spin. Case in Point.

We were on 18, and HFNW was hitting his second shot on a slope. He took an all out swing, and struck the ball. It flew straight up into the air and, rolled 3 feet behind his original stance. He actually spun a ball backwards with a 5 wood. I bet none of you can do that. To his credit, I think he did it on purpose for the comedic effect.

NOW... is the time to get your wedge sets in place. You can buy good grooves and use them till 2024. (In 2024, do you think anyone will care about 14 year old wedges? Nah..)

I have an ecliptic set with one thing in common. Low Bounce. I prefer low bounce as it's leading edge sits on the ground, and is less likely to bounce into the ball if hit a tab behind the ball.

My 60* has 5* of bounce, (Tommy Armour with a milled face) and I use it more than just about any club I have. Hands forward chipping, flopping, spin control, you can do it all with a 60*.

My 52* is a Taylormade RAC with 8* of bounce. (would have gotten less bounce had I been able to find it.) It's a great club from 80-100 and a 50 yard half swing bounce and check.

My 56* is a Ram I've had forever, and can go a round or two without using it. I'll probably replace it this winter with a Taylormade, as I really like how the 52 sets up.

If I was going to buy a matching set, I'd go with the Cleveland CG's, in the same lofts I have.

Also, I've debagged my set matching SW, and keep it in the closet. It had so much bounce, I couldn't count on it in a delicate situation, and replace it with the 52*. For sand shots, I just use my 60*, and if I need to fly a bit farther, use the 56*. Both work good enough for me.

I just ran out to my truck and took a picture of my clubs. I love both my vokey 58 and CG15 56. I probably should update my old Cleveland 52, but I still hit it well from 110-125.

Shoot looks like they only have the z-star x in yellow.

Do you use the 60º often?

Every round. It has become my go-to club from 65 and in. I used to use the 56° as I was much more consistant with it, but lately I have been on fire with the 60.
