Yes, you can get the same rates without staying at resort. Tee times are limited and only reservable a limited time out.

They went back in March and I am sure he did. His parents have a home on one of the courses so they get a discounted rate.

Are you bartering 100 nights of streamside camping for one night at PB Lodge?

        • Golf has been frustrating this year. I haven't gotten out regularly like I have in the past. The outing with AV and CJ last Monday was enjoyable for the company but crappy for the golf. Saturday I was one over through five, but then it all went to hell fast. Just no consistency. grrr.

This has been a dreadful year for me as I have chronicled a few times. My last 4 rounds have been in the 80's so I am hopeful the last part of the year won't be so painful.

I am so hopeful that I signed up to play in the Club Super Senior Match play. The winner gets his own parking place.

Only 10-12 are signed up and I have been so dreadful this year that I will have to play the number 1 seed, because I am the number 10 or 11 or 12 seed depending on the final number entered.

            • Got a lesson today and then went out and shot a 75 from the yellow tee's. Played the yellow's because that is where the old farts play the championship from. I am elated.

              • Here it is July, and I've only played about 10 times this year. I'm playing wed and monday though.

I stopped by Golfsmith this afternoon, and its strange to see the changes since I've last been in. Apparently the TM Rocket Ballz clubs are the hottest things in years. They had two rows of assorted drivers, fairway and hybrids. They had half a row of Callaway, and Titleist.

As I came in, the store manager said hello, and asked where I'd been as she hadn't seen me in a while. It was nice to be noticed.

He's only played the first hole?

You must have got caught looking at the ocean. The 10th is one of the most beautiful golf holes in the world. Did you end up playing a shot off the beach?

                          • I played Schneiter's Riverside in Riverdale on Saturday and again yesterday. I watered greens at this course for a summer prior to starting law school so I could get free golf. I golfed 6 days a week that summer. It's definitely the course i've played the most and also where I posted my lowest ever round. It's not a long course, but there is trouble on pretty much every hole if you don't keep it in the fairway (though, since the big wind storm a few years back, it's much more open than it used to be). I shot an 87 on Saturday and was feeling pretty awful about how far my game had fallen in the 10 years since I worked there. Yesterday I posted an 80 in spite of a triple bogey on a hole where I was sitting 125 out after my drive (shanked my second off the hosel and landed it directly behind a tree, and then crapped the bed for another 5 shots). I lipped out par putts on both 17 and 18 or I would have broken 80 for the first time this year.

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

                            • I have made it to the semi finals tomorrow. The guy I am playing is noted for trying to get in the opponents head. Things like rattling clubs while you are swinging, talking while swinging and various other items. I am so looking forward to this. I consider myself a good sport and a strong proponent of golf ediquete (sp). However, I also think I can handle crap thrown my way and have had great training on here.

If he starts it, he will end up telling someone I am a real butt hole. Oh, he is a better golfer so he should beat me if he focus's on his game and not mine.

My complete lack of etiquette, and constant grumbling unde my breath (was there a tree in that course, that I didn't get behind?) should have been good preparation for you. Heck, I finished my pathetic round by making a birdie, and got a, "We call that whip cream on shit, around here" response. You'll do fine.
