Impressive. Also that is cool Zac would come and play in the tournament.

As an added footnote, I shot 77 and 78 Firday and Saturday. Granted the course has been shortened due to construction, but I am proud of the scores anyway.

Seems your course is always undergoing some sort of renovation. Maybe I am mis-remembering.

Yep a rough couple of years. Changes and upgrades were badly needed. Myself and most are happy now we went through it

            • My parents saw a commercial for this while on a Scandinavian cruise. Seems like a solution looking for a problem.

Why did they make the opening so small.

                  • Felt totally in the groove this morning, 40-40 at the Westin Kierland in Phoenix. Easy resort style course, but I was keeping the ball in the middle and giving myself tap in pars all day. Back to reality soon I'm sure.

                    • Were you teeing off with driver or 3h?

                        Mix, back 9 had 3 par 5s and 3 par 3s, for the round I used 7 drivers 6 3h.

                        • Clack, why don't you post round updates anymore? Club-making adventures? Those were the posts that made you on CUF.

                          • Family Friend Rhett passed on the Utah State Amateur this year because he got an invite to play The Olympic Club in the Trans-Miss Championship, a tournament of all the top amateurs. He took 8th place, the only non-college player in the top 10.

                            • While in Utah recently we spent an evening at TopGolf, which I thought was pretty entertaining. It was like bowling with lots of good eats and fun competition. Tony Finau and his posse were walking in as we departed.

We also played the Canyons golf course in Park City. A little gimmicky, and brutal if you're not hitting straight, but still fun.

This afternoon I got fitted for new clubs, the first time in more than 15 years. Rather weirdly, my clubhead speed with my mid-irons is the same as, and perhaps even faster than, my driver. The analyst said I have an excellent irons swing, the woods swing not so much. I'm trying to figure out why that is. It's cool that in my 60s I will still have a stiff shaft (irons); not so cool that my driver won't be stiff. <insert "there's a pill for that" joke here>

Maybe you have"just get it in the fairway" approach to your driver that causes you to slow it down? A friend of mine only takes about a 2/3 back saying with his driver.

Did you decide on a set of clubs? I'd be interested in what you got.
