I am not real happy. I am assuming a couple of weeks ahead we play slower greens so they can get them real fast for the tournament. Course gets hammered because of pr-ams and takes a week or two to recover. Not sure there are as many as the Utah open though. Maybe we make some money though and keeps my dues down.

I wonder if they will have you play off mats before the tournament. That would suck. Also I can't see where a Web.com tournament would bring in a lot of money to the course hosting it. Go over to Davis or Valley View and mix it up with the common people for a couple of weeks.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI am not real happy. Yes. Matts on the driving range. I love Davis and Valley View. We can also play other clubs but can't get enough times together for our groupOriginally posted by RC Vikings View PostI wonder if they will have you play off mats before the tournament. If you've got the info for that please send it my way. That would be rad!Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostI played there a couple of times last June. A nice track but I'd put at least 5-6 other courses (on Kauai and Maui) ahead of it. Still, if it's not too much trouble to take your bag, I'd do it.
BTW, on that same trip the missus and I each flew powered hang gliders with these people, and it was probably the greatest thing we've ever done in Hawaii. We flew amidst rainbows (not unusual), through gaps in a mountain range through which squadrons of Japanese bombers flew in 1941, and each of us ended up with a full-length video and dozens of pictures of us flying these cool machines (there's a licensed pilot and guide with you). It's pricey, but worth it.

Sorry for the slow response, but chrisrenut got it right. Rather that clutter up the golf thread with this, I posted a lot of details and a couple of photos in the Back Fence/Oahu, Wahoo thread.

Why weren't you up at the Governor's Mansion yesterday promoting the tournament? I would expect you to be in that group.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI am not real happy. I was on the board for a while. I also am in charge of the biggest group of guys who play together. They all know my feelings about having outside tournaments show up and take up the course for a week. I didn't even get the e-mail announcement sent to everyone.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostWhy weren't you up at the Governor's Mansion yesterday promoting the tournament? Not sure how much we make on the tournament. Maybe $50,000. That is about $125 per member. I would gladly pay that for them not to come. Heck, you have to get a special pass to come on property I pay about $12,000 to a year. (dues are only $5,400 of that. I do alot of other stuff out there).
I wish the web.com tour had talked to old-gregg before making their decision.Last edited by byu71; 01-25-2017, 12:33 PM.

LOL on not as popular. I am in charge of our group not because I am liked, but because it was felt a real weeney would make everyone fall into line.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View Post71 come up to Oregon for a few days during the tourney. It would be my pleasure to return your kindness. Although I'm not as important or popular as you are at your club. I can get you on a few nice courses though.
Going to Oregon would be great. I know there are awesome courses up there.
